Lady Cubs of Electra Junior
High played Chillicothe on
Sept. 26 coming up short of
victories despite hard fought
games.
The Seventh Grade lost
22-25, 21-25. Rebecca Unruh
served five serves in a row.
The Eighth Grade took
Chillicothe to three games but
was unable to put it out in the
third, 13-25, 25-23, 18-25.
Standout player was Kayla
Cryer\
Coach Sallie Gilliam said
both teams were working very
hard and are improving every
time they step onto the court.
"We would like to
thank everyone who came
out and supported us. We
play Saturday, Oct. 1 in the
Windthorst Tournament. Both
teams play at 8 a.m.,” said
Coach Gillian.
Lady Tiger

Northside
Lady Tigers of ElectraHigh
School took on Northside in
volleyball this past Saturday
and finished with a win — 25-
22, 26-24, 27-25.
Coach Cara Lane said,
"We had some very close
matches but these young
ladies really battled it out
together as a team. We have
worked all year on battling or
coming from behind and then
finishing the match. They did
exactly that on Saturday. ”
"We will continue to
work on staying focused and
perfecting our sills each day
in practice. I want to thank
all of you who came out to
support these young ladies. It
really means a lot to them to
have the community backing
them,’ she added.
The Lady Tigers were
to travel to Archer City on
Tuesday with the junior
varsity playing at 5 and
the varsity following. On
Saturday, Oct. 1, they will
travel to Windthorst to play
at 9 a.m. starting with jv,
followed by varsity.
"We are currently 3-1 in
district play,” said the coach.
"We will finish up the first
round of district this week.”
Standouts for the Northside
game were Courtney Priselac
with two aces and eight kills;
Allison Hatfield with eight
kills, and Olivia Cooper with
five kills and 17 assists.

with Stinnett, 26-29. The Ti-
gers had 400 yards of offense
and had the lead late in the
fourth quarter before giving
a TD with 51 seconds left.
Both residents and Home-
coming visitors will have
the opportunity to see prog-
ress at the historic Grand
Theatre and contribute to
its ongoing rehabilitation
project during activities
planned for Saturday, Oct. 15.
Grand board members
and volunteers will open the
Grand following the Satur-
day morning parade for a
fund-r raising carnival, fol-
lowed by a 7:30 p.m. tick-
eted event Saturday evening.
Late Night at the Grand
will feature live entertainment
early in the evening and des-
sert available for purchase, all
benefiting the Grand project.

a victory from Chillicothe
on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in
volleyball action.
They defeated Chillicothe
in three games with scores of
25-13,25-14, and 25-18.
"We had a total of nine
missed serves which is
disappointing considering
the amount of practice time
we spend on serving,” said
Coach Cara Lane "We will
continue to work on this
area and pressure situations.
We also continue to work on
finishing our matches. On
the positive side, the girls are
coming together as a team and
working as a unit.”
The team is 2-1 in district
play and was to play the
Northside Lady Indians on
Sept. 24.
Allison Hatfield led the
team with eight kills while
Courtney Priselac had five,
Olivia Cooper had 17 set
assists and two aces, Kristin
Doss had two aces and
Mackenzie Lewis had two
solo blocks.
