Electra High School Lady
Tigers opened the second half
of district basketball with a
50-21 victory over the Lady
Cubs of Olney.
Laci Perez led all scorers
point baskets and her first
double=-double of the season
pulling down 11 rebounds.
She went 4 of 6 from the free
throw line, had six assists and
had 5 steals.
12 points with 1 assists
and 1 steal and 2 boards.
Taylor Segler played a good
defensive game and scored
7 points, went 3 of 4 from
the free throw line and had

with 19 points, hitting 3 3- McKenzie Lewis scored 5 rebounds, 3 of which were

Marisa Vela scored 6 and

the girls played hard but lost
6-36. "They played with a lot
of heart and did a good job of
making adjustments on both
offense and defense. We still
need to work on executing our
offenses and rebounding on
offense and defense.”
The eighth grade battled

Hinkle led scoring with 5

traveled to Seymour on Friday
night where they lost 31-12 in
basketball action.
Leading scorer was Alexis
Jones with 8, Abbie DeLizio
and Ruth Solorio, 2 each.
"We did not play well the
first half of the game but came
back out in the second half
and held them to 8 points,”
said Coach Kristi Turner.
This is an area in which we
wifi continue to work.”

EJHS Lady Cubs Place In
Windthorst Tournament
Eighth Grade Lady
Cubs of Electra Junior High
placed third in the Windthorst
Basketball Tournament
Saturday.
The Lady Cubs played
Petrolia coming from behind
to win 29-21 to gain third
place.
Charity James led scoring
with 20 points. Lizzie Segler
had 7 points and Peyton
Grimes added two points. "I
was very proud of the drive
and determination of these
girls in this game. It was
a whole-team victory. We
trailed Petrolia all the way
through the third quarter, 14-
19, then we changed some
things and the girls executed
the plans both on offensive
and defensive, paying off in
the end. We still need to work
on shooting from the free
throw line, 8 from 22 through
two games, and offensive
rebounding,” said Coach
Sallie Gilliam.
The Eighth Grade played
Poolville first and lost 23-30.
"They played hard through
the game but we could never
get our shots to fall,” said the
coach.
Seventh Grade faced
Poolville first and lost 8-40.
Lizeth Jaramillo led the
scoring with 3 points. Shelby
Wyatt and Natalie Farias each
had 2 points and Karlie Nason
added 1 point.
'The girls played with
a lot of heart and worked
really hard on implementing
some changes that we had
implemented,” added Coach
Gilliam.
The Seventh Grade
played Petrolia for third place
and lost 4-35. Karlie Nason
and Lizeth Jaramillo each had
2 points for the Lady Cubs.
"The girls played with
a lot of effort and hustle.
We still need to work on
shooting from the free throw
line, 2 for 10 through both
games, making transitions on
defense,” noted the coach.
We could like to thank
everyone who came out and
showed support,” concluded
Coach Gilliam. "We wifi
end the season traveling
to Windthorst on Monday,
concluded the coach..”
Last Home Game
Seventh and eighth grade
Lady Cubs hosted Archer City
in their last home basketball
games of the season.
The seventh grade
played hard but lost 2-39,”
said Coach Sallie Gilliam.

rebounding and getting shots
to fall,” commented Coach
Gilliam.

supported both teams,” she
