On the 17th of March each
year St. Patrick is honored. Lit-
tle did he think when he wan-
dered through the shamrocks
more than fifteen hundred
years ago that his birthday
would be remembered and hon-
ored today, the occasion so long
reserved for the Irish now is
more widespread.
Everyone will want to tuck a
shamrock in his lapel and get
into the Irish mood.

tended a luncheon and Book
Review in San Antonio Thurs-
day.
Mrs. C. A. McCown was in
San Antonio Tuesday attending
a meeting of the Druggists’
Auxiliary.

Miss Eda Offer
Mrs. Louise Reinhard of
Boerne spent several days in
the O. E. Behr home the past
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Mar-
quart of Block Creek visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Arnodlr Mar-
quart on last Monday evening.
D. W. Sigler of Boerne, Aug.
Haufler of Comfort and Harry
Hill have returned after several
days fishing on Buchanan Lake.
Mesdames W. H. Whitworth
and Hubert Marquart very
pleasantly entertined the Civic
Club with cards on Wednesday
night. The prizes were won by
Mrs. O. E. Behr and W. H. Whit-
worth, first, Mr. and Mrs. O. J.
Marquardt drew second. Deli-
cious refreshments were serv-
ed. Among the guests were
Mr. and Mrs. Erhard Haufler
of Waring and Mrs. Louise
Reinhard of Boerne.
Mrs. Lloyd Hey land and dau-
ghter of Boerne spent Thursday
with Sisterdale relatives.
Quite a number attended the
Senior Class play, “Ah, Men” at
Comfort Saturday night, at the
School Auditorium. It was well
rendered and greatly enjoyed.
We were proud to see Bobby
Whitworth and Del’ton Hill am-
ong the group.
Mrs. Louis Habenicht very
royally entertained the Embroi-
dery Club on Thursday. There
were 15 members present. Re-
freshments were served and a
social afternoon was enjoyed.
Funeral services were held
for Mrs. Richard Werner of San
Antonio on Sunday afternoon at
the Ebensberger Funeral Home
in Boerne. The body was laid
to rest in the family burial plot
on the former Richard Werner
ranch at Sisterdale.
Miss Eda Offer, Mr. and Mrs.
Fritz Ebell and son were Com-
fort and Fredericksburg visitors
on Friday afternoon.'
Mrs. Wm. Langbein has left
for an extended stay with Mr.
and Mrs. Aug. Haufler at Cy-
pres Creek. She spent two
months in the Adolph Bausch
home here.
Mrs. Lee Jung and daughter
of Comfort visited in the O. J.
Marquardt home on Wednes-
day.
Mrs. Ottilie Werner, Mrs. Ed-
gar Agold and children of Boer-
ne greeted friends and relatives
here on Saturday.
Mrs. E. V. Foran and daugh-
ter of San Antonio spent the
week-end at their ranch home
here.
Mrs. Geo. Rhodes is visiting
in Austin for several weeks.
Recent visitors in the Simon
Haag home were Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Schneider and chilren, Mr.
and Mrs. Johnny Riegel of San
Antonio, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Eickenloff of Bergheim.
Mrs. A. F. File and son of
San Antonio spent the past
week at their country home
here. They were joined by Mr.
File over the week-end.
