Miss Gwendolyn Phillips and
John Read, both of Austin, were
united in marriage Monday night
at the First "Baptist Church, Rev.
E. E. Wheeless officiating. Pres-
ent for the ceremony were Mr.
and Mrs. M. A. Hudler, also of
Austin, and Mrs. Wheeless.
Mr. and Mrs. Read are old
friends of Rev. and Mrs. Whee-
less. and came down here es-
pecially to be married by him.
After a short wedding trip on
the coast they will return to
Austin where they will make
their home.

church Monday for their regular

Mrs. C. M. Peltier and children
have returned from Concordia,
Kansas, where they have been
visiting for the past three weeks
with Mrs. Peltier’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Pete Metro, and other
relatives.
Mrs. PeltieT made the trip at
this particular time especially to
attend Memorial services for her
brother, Jerome Metro, who was
''faired in action in England De-
cember 18, 1943. Military serv-
ices were held in Concordia Mon-
day, July 19th, at the Catholic
Church.
