Cleveland ISD
Joins Other
Districts in
School Board
Recognition
January is School Board Rec-
ognition Month and Cleveland
ISD is joining other districts
across the state to gratefully ac-
knowledge the invaluable contri-
butions trustees make to their
communities.
“Volunteer school board mem-
bers served countless hours work-
ing to improve public education,”
said Terry Myers, Cleveland ISD
Superintendent. In difficult
times, school trustees develop
policies and make tough deci-
sions on complex educational and
social issues which impact the en-
tire community and the lives of
individual students. They bear
responsibility in Cleveland ISD
for an annual budget of 19 mil-
lion dollars; 3,100 students; 430
employees and 6 campuses.
School trustees have a tremen-
dous responsibility, preparing
today’s students — and
tomorrow’s leaders - for produc-
tive roles in our society. School
board members are the voice of
their communities, serving first
and foremost in the best interest
of our school children.
“We proudly join educators and
community leaders in saluting
these education advocates as they
provide leadership for student
achievement, academic pro-
grams, district funding, and
school facilities. Their services
ensure that decisions about local
and public schools are made by
those most familiar with the needs
of the community’s children and
families,” said Superintendent
Myers. “These individuals de-
serve recognition and thanks for
their committment and dedication
to the continuing success of our
students and schools,” he said.
The board members serving
Cleveland ISD are: Danny Lee,
President; Ronnie Lewis, Vice-
President; Fred Terrell, Secretary;
Lloyd Lewis; Billy Ross; Clifton
Wilridge, Sr.; and Chris Wood.
God bless these men that serve
as board members and God bless
Cleveland Independent School
District.
