The grandest Old Gentleman called at our Store this
week ... He looked a trifle battle scarred and weary . . .
“Been through so many campaigns’’, he said, but he allowed
as how a months’ supply of Bexel Vitamins would put him
back in good shape in plenty of time for Christmas. Yes
— sir, Mr. S. Claus, himself . . . said despite the drought,
rumors of wars and regardless of what happened in the stock
market HE WOULD RETURN — We beseeched him never
to fail us as he was the only man we felt we could really
count on ... he said there were lots of good man and true
... at the North Pole . . . (Pardon us while we adjust our
earmuffs). He said he did hate to hear of anyone being
disillusioned or unhappy at this Season so we said we were
just joking and he said sometimes he wondered and we said
so did we . . . The erudite old dear suggested we sell our
$26.50 Shick Electric Razors for $17.95 so we promised we
would and then he looked all around and observed the situ-
ation seemed to be well in hand . . . He asked if we were
reminding our good customers they could use their charge
accounts for all their Christmas buying and we said why
yes we reckoned we had made that clear . . then he said
those folks who go to the City to do their shopping aren’t
using very good judgment as they could get everything they
need right here and we said yes we believed they really
could . . he likewise stated he just admired our pink window
no end and asked who did it and we said why, Mrs. Moore
and Frank, of course, and he said both he and Mrs. Claus
had ALWAYS said those two were veritable Santa’s First
String Helpers . . with which he twinkled his eyes and strode
out of the door and somehow everything seemed brighter
and heartier just because of his presents . . or presence . .
whichever comes first as the prescription says . . we are
going to turn on the lights and turn up the Carols and busy
ourselves at the task of filling all your Drug and Gift Needs
and we just believe we are the ones who can do it.

Fine-Flavored Punch For A Party
Fall and winter festivities are just around the corner. There’ll be
parties and parties, especially among the younger set. The best way
to handle refreshments for a crowd is to serve a punch — good fla-
vored and tempting to look at.
Here’s a simple and delicious punch, easily made with carbonated
fruit-flavored beverages. To insure against flavor dilution, it’s a
good idea to freeze ice cubes of either the lemon or raspberry soda.
For a light and dark effect, you might like to make half the cubes
of one flavor and half of the other.
Another variation — and one that will make a hit at any party —
omit the ice cubes and lemon slices and garnish the punch with
scoops of raspberry ice or lemon ice. If you do this, be sure that your
bottles of soda are very cold.
Tangy Raspberry Puneh
1 package frozen raspberries 1 28-oz. bottle lemon soda
2 28-oz. bottles raspberry soda 2 lemons, sliced
Combine raspberries and ice cold raspberry and lemon soda. Stir
gently to mix. Pour over ice cubes in punch bowl. Garnish with lemon
slices'. Makes about 36 punch cup servings.
