BOERNE LIONS

BLOOD BANK
A A movement has been
started by the Lions Club to ob-
tain a blood bank for the new
Boerne Hospital.
The Lions Club, the Junior
Chamber of Commerce and the
Boerne Grange have under-
taken to mobilize citizens of
Boerne as blood donors. The
blood will be available free of
charge to anyone in need, Dr.
Jack Diamond, hospital owner,
said.
G. T. Ball, medical and surgi-
cal technologist with the hos-
pital will donate his time to ayp-
ing the blood and RH determi-
nations.
Dr. Diamond says he knows
of no town the size of Boerne
which has a blood service of this
type. The blood bank will be
modeled after the New Braun-
fels version, which was started
there by the Junior Chamber of
Commerce.

OUR CEMETERY
First of, all, we want to thank
everyone who helped us to make
the Cemetery Association a suc-
cess. There are still a few we
haven’t heard from. No doubt,
they haven’t been to the ceme-
tery lately to see what we have
done. Have you been to the
cemetery in the past two weeks ?
If not—drive through the cem-
etery some evening—the gates
are open. There are more people
going to the cemetery in the
past three months, than there
has been in years heretofore. We
have started cleaning all the
graves and lots in the cemetery,
regardless if they are paid for
or not. If you go to the ceme-
tery, and see your, lots clean,
and you haven’t* paid, if this is
worth anything to you please let
us hear from you. At the rate
people have been writing us in
the last two weeks, we are sure
it won’t be long, everybody will
want us to care for their graves
and lots. If you are sick, see
your Doctor. If your car won’t
run, see the garage man. If you
want your graves and lots clean
ed, see the Cemetery Associa-
tion. We have decided not to
publish the names of all those
who have paid at present. We
feel it won’t be but just a short
time and everybody will be with
us to have a nice cemetery.
When we do publish the names
you your name is not on the list
and you have paid, please let us
know, and we will take care of
it immediately.
Have you ever given it a
thought? That this has been an
exceptional year. If we didn’t
have one or two rains a week we
had at least two years every
three weeks. In spite of all the
rain, we are getting to where
we are making headway right
along. Thanking you again and
hoping we are satisfying every-
body.
