Senator Kelley Urges
Anti-Aircraft Units
Senator Rogers Kelley announc-
ed this week that he had request-
eo Governor W. Lee O’Daniel and
Adjutant General J. Watt Page to
file an application on behalf of the
State of Texas with the War De-
partment for the establishment <-f
anti-aircraft units throughout his
Senatorial district.
The matter was brought to Kel-
ley’s attention when one of the ci-
ties in his district attempted to ob-
tain an anti-aircraft unit in the
Texas National Guard, and was
advised there was no authority for
the establishment of such a unit at
the present time.
An investigation disclosed that
in the army appropriation bill for
the fiscal year 1941, pending be-
fore the National Congress, au-
thority Is provided for the estab-
ment of five additional anti-air-
, craft regiments and eight observa-
tion squadrons in the National
| Guard.
I Kelley pointed out to Governor
j O'Daniel and General Page that
the coast line from Borwnsville to
! Corpus Christi and the Rio Gran-
de from Brownsville to Del Ri<> are
absolutely unprotected from any
possible air attacks, and that it is
imperative those sections be ade-
quately equipped with anti-air-
|[craft units.
i Kelley asserted that no section
| of the United States needed ade-
quate anti-aircraft units as much
as his Senatorial district, which
contains three large and impor-
tant airports and three outstand-
| ing seaports.

It’s Quality That Counts
In A Dairy Cow. . .
Progress and profits in the dairy industry call for milk-
producing quality in the breeds. To do justice to natural
milk-producing ability, feed your cows balanced rations,
containing protein, carbohydrates and minerals. Cotton-
seed meal and hulls have proved their quality, in well-
balanced dairy rations ... to supplement farm grains
and roughages.
