MISS RENICK COMPLIMENTED
An outstanding social event of
the week was the tea and miscel-
laneous shower given Saturday af-
ternoon by Mrs H. C. Holbrook
complimenting Miss Fay Renick, a
bride-elect.
Guests were greeted at the do..r
by Mrs. Holbrook and her daugh-
ter, Miss Martine Holbrook of Aus-
tin. Another daughter, Mrs. Tom
Gamme of Ponca City, Oklahoma,
and the honoree met the guests in
an adjoining room where the
shower gifts were on display.
The home was decorated lavish-
ly throughout with bright spring
flowers. The tea table was spreaa
with a cloth of Italian cut-work
and had for its centerpiece a
bowl of yellow iris and blue del-
phineum flanked l.y tall yellow
candles in crystal holders.
The bride-elect, whose marriage
to L. W. Dooley Jr. of Alice will be
one of the events of late spring, is
a popular teacher in the city’s
public schools. She is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Renick
of Liberty Hill, Texas.
