Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor,
I read with some dismay that the Delta County Commissioner’s Court, by a vote of 5-0
(this is including the vote of the County Judge) decided NOT to accept a CERTZ grant from
TXDOT for just over $120,000.00. To receive this grant, some matching funds would be
required, plus some elbow grease on the part of the County Administration.
Lamar County and Fannin County have embraced this grant and are going forward with it.
I think we are the only county in our area to reject this.
Now, I am not a very smart man, but I think I would trade $12,000.00 and a little work for
$120,000.00 every day of the week.
Is this the kind of government and LEADERSHIP in the Judge’s office we need in Delta
County?
Thank you,
James W. Scott
