t;on in tt «* show rim?, but rather, the object
has been to select the animals that combine
the characteristics that nearest approach the
ideal Jersey. The show animals are all work-
in}? animals from the riaries, Mr. Lasater be-
ing strong in his convictions that producing
qualities should be considered in placing dairy
cattle in the show ring.
Each milking of every cow is weighed and
recorded, and once a month samples are taken
and tested for butterfat content. An accurate
record is kept of the production and breeding
of every cow. In addition a number of pure-
bred cows are constantly on yearly Register of
Merit test. This work is conducted under the
rules of the American Jersey Cattle Club, and
the test supervisors are representatives of the
Texas Agricultral & Mechanical College.
Averages of all Register of Merit records com-
pleted by Falfurrias Jerseys for the year 1925
is a follows:
Milk 10.527 lbs.; 615.74 lbs. butterfat
(90',' of these cows of immature age) Aver-
ages of all register of merit records (16,271),
accepted by the American Jersey Cattle Club
for the past twenty-years—milk 8,468 lbs.; but-
terfat 453.96 lbs. Falfuriias Jerseys show
an increase of 2,059 lbs. of milk and 161.78 lbs.
of butterfat per cow per year in official test
work. Falfurrias Jerseys are being bred for
butterfat production and the success that is
being attained is shown in the Register of Merit
records, in which the butterfat tests average
more than one-half of one percent higher than
those of animals purchased from other herds.
The two leading families represented in the
Falfurrias Jerseys are being bred for butterfat
production and the success that is being at-
tained in the Register of Merit records, in which
the ■ butterfat tests average more than one-
half of one percent higher than those of animals
purchased from other herds. The two lead-
ing families represented in the Falfurrias herd,
are the Sophie Tormentors and the Majesiys.
The Sophie Tormentors are headed bv the great
bull SOPHIE 19th’s TORMENTOR li.3302. He
is the sire of 70 Register of Merit daughters.
He is winner of both the Gold and Silver medals
and will need only one more medal of Merit
daughter to quality as a Medal of Merit bull.
He is the sire of 1 over 900 lbs. fat; 2 oxer
850 lbs. fat; 3 over 800 lbs. fat; 10 over 700
lbs. fat; 22 over 600 lbs. fat.
His five highest daughters average 14,-
730 lbs. milk; 837.47 lbs. fat. Ten highest
daughters average 14.050 lbs. milk; 783.68 lbs.
fat. Fifteen highest daughters average 13,-
396 lbs. milk; 747.70 lbs. fat. Twenty high-
est daughters average 12,992 lbs. milk; 719.58
lbs. fat.
He is the sire of many champions and ex-
champions: sire of 13 proven sons including
three Silver Medal bulls; sire of two medal
cows. What will his record and the record
of his progeny be ten years hence? Breeders
appreciate the prepotent blood of this “Wonder
Sire.” His sons and daughters are perpetuat-
ing the phenomenal producing and reproduc-
ing qualities he inherits. That this blood is
appreciated by men who want the best is shown
by the selling value of his offspring. His
male offspring alone has sold for more than
$30,000.00.
Royal Majesty of St. Cloud 89541 is the
foundation of the great herd of Majesty cattle
owned by Mr. Lasater. “Majesty” is a Gold
Medal bull and is the sire of 85 Register of Merit
daughters.
He is sire of 1 over 850 lbs. fat; 2 over 800
lbs. fat: 9 over 700 lbs. fat 17 over 600 lbs. fat.
His five hightest daughters average 12.-
829 lbs. m-lk; 798.94 lbs. fat. Ten highest
daughters average 12,552 lbs. milk; 758.99 lbs.
fat. Fifteen highest daughters average 12.-
280 His. milk: 727.15 lbs. fat. Twenty high-
est daughters average 11,941 lbs. milk; 694.93
lbs. fat.
He is the sir* of many champions and ex-
champions. Sire of 10 proven sons. Royal
MAJESTY OF ST. CLOUD is dead, but we are
using 16 of his sons in the Falfurrias Herd to
perpetuate the phenomenal producing and re-
producing qualities of the Old Master.

Unquestionably the man a-
