MEETING OF MINNIE
DAVIS CIRCLE
Regular meeting of the Minnie
Davis Circle was held in the
home of Estelle Miller Wednes-
day morning, June 23 with four-
teen members and three guests
present.
Our Chairman, Zelma Black-
burn presided at the meeting.
The Program titled “Christ and
the Life< Within” was given by
Eda Blaize. The Purposes: To
think about Jesus Christ as the
cornerstone of the Christian
faith; To share our own know-
ledge of Christ with others, and
to learn from others; To search
for ways of allowing Christ to
operate within us.
Zelma conducted the Bible
Study. The 20th Chapter of
Luke was read and discussed
with much interest.
At the business meeting, min-
utes of the previous meeting
were read and corrected.
Estelle Miller stated twenty-
four more new cook books have
been received which our Circle
will sell.
In further regard to flowers
for our Church Services, Zelma
reported each Circle will be re-
sponsible for flowers in the Chu-
rch for two months at a time,
and should no flowers be forth-
coming, each Circle will buy
flowers for the months they are
responsible. In case of an emer-
gency, Eda Blaize was appoint-
ed to purchase flowers to repre-
sent the General Society and al-
so our Circle.
A Get-Well card was signed
by all present and sent to Gerald
Saxon.
Roselyn Daley closed the meet
ing with prayer.
500 CARD CLUB
Mrs. Emil Richter on Thurs-
day was hostess at her home to
members of the 500 Card Club.
High score prize was won by
Mrs Bodo Holekamp. Mrs. Paul
Holekamp was second high and
Mrs. A. C. Richter received con-
solation prize. Following the us-
usal number of games, tasty re-
freshments were enjoyed by the
players.
Miss Melisande Perron is at-
tending Mt. Wesley Camp at
Kerrville.
