Sift together into a 9x13 pan
and mix sell
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tap sixta
one third cup cocoa
1 Up salt
Make a hole in the center and
put following ingredients into
hole
*4 cup cooking oil
2 tap vinegar
I tsp vanilla
Pour 2 cups "cold" water
over all and blend with a fork
or spoon
"Do not beat'” Bake at 350
degrees for 35-40 minutes
Fronting
1 cup milk
3 tbs Hour
Cook until thick cover and
cool
Cream cup shortening. '*
cup butter 1 cup sugar. 1 tsp
vanilla Put together into
mixer and beat for 10-15
minutes Spread on cake

»i cup unseasoned bread-
crumbs
11 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp dried parsley leaves
I packet bouillion
1 Up basil
2 US or > cans cheese ravioli
in beef and tomato sauce
2 cups coukmg oil
2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
dash hot pepper sauce
pickled cocktain onions
stuffed olives
Combine breadcrumbs,
garlic powder. parsley,
bouillion and basil Empty
cheese ravioli into medium
sized bowl Take each ravioli
and remove excess sauce with
rubber spatula or spoon
Reserve sauce Bread ravioli
with flavored breadcrumbs
Place hreaded ravioli on wax
paper and top with another
piece of w ax paper Pat gently,
allow to stand for 15 minutes
Heal oil in deep skillet ( 3H0
degrees i Fry about six ravioli
at a lime, until golden brown
Remove and drain on ab-
sorbent paper Place on warm
platter or shallow dish
Meantime add Worcestershire
sauce and hot pepper sauce to
reserved beef and tomato
sauce Simmer for 5 minutes
Dip fried ravioli in hot sauce,
or pour hot sauce over fried
ravioli Serves four
With the following recipe you
can cool off in a sophisticated
and elegant manner

2 tbs instant coffee powder
2 lbs sugar
S cup water
4 cups cold milk
few drops peppermint ex
tract
cup whipping cream
2 tbs cold fudge topping for
ice cream
Dissolve instant coffee and
sugar in water Add milk and
peppermint extract Cover and
keep chilled until serving time
Whip cream in a chilled bowl
with chilled tieaters until stiff
peaks form Gently fold in
topping just until swirled
through w hipped cream to give
a marbled pattern Serve a
dollop of fudge marbled
whipped cream over each cup
of iced coffee Six servings. 6

this
1 pint lemon sherbet, sot
tened
one-third cup instant tea
powder
2 tbs sugar
3 cups cold milk
lemon slices
Beat sherbet, instant tea and
sugar with a mixer or blender
until smooth Add milk Heat
just until foamy Garnish with
lemon slices, if desired Serve
immediately. Four servings. 10

strawberries
1 tbs sugar

cup milk
Iresh strawberries
Beat strawberries and sugar
in a blender until mashed Add

until foamy Garnish with fresh
strawberries, if desired Serve

This year, the Country Store Contest will have seven
divisions
Division I canned fruits and vegetables
Division II jams, jellies and preserves
Division III pickles and pickled anything
Division IV breads, yeast rolls, etc
Division V cakes and cookies
Division VI pics
Division VII candy
A first and second place will be awarded in each division
There will also lie a "Best of Class" awarded for Class A
which w ill include divisions I. II and III and for Class B which
will include divisions IV. V. VI and VII
E'.ntnes should lie delivered and registered between 2 and
4pm. Monday. July 4. to Municipal Park Judging will begin
after 4 p m
After the judging, the goods will tie sold to the public

gown of white quiana with a
sweep train and carried a
bouquet of yellow roses,
gardenias, and stephanotia
Mrs Kim Reiter was matron
of honor and bridesmaids were
Miss Amy Bates. Miss Becky
Wieting and Miss Jan Medlin
The bride's attendants wore
long, yellow organza dresses
with capes trimmed with
yellow satin ribbon They
carried white baskets of yellow
and white daisies
