Keeping a‘pace with this great
building activity, the entire aiti-
xeqship of Fort, Worth is uniting
to extend a genuine, hearty' hos-
pitality to the 30,000 troops who
wtil he stationed at Camp Bowie,
Fort Worth’* program for mak-
ing the surroundings'pleasant to
the men in Khaki, during their
hours of leisure, is prompted morel
from a sense of pleasure than oi
duty. The city is proud to have
been chosen aa the military homo
of the Texas and Oklahoma troops.
The Fort Worth business men,
bankers, manufacturers, profes-
sional men' city and county offl
ctalR, clergymen, educators and
women of social station and grace,
hare formed a War Service Board,
in co-operation with the War De-
partment National Commission on
training camp activities. This
Board is meeting at frequent inter-
vals and is Dlanning defi
‘or the soldiers.
$25,000 is now being raised to fos-
ter the work of the Fort Worth
War Service Board.
Camp Bowie occupies a coin
manding site overlooking all of Ft.
Worth. The camp is within two
miles of the business center of the
city and is traversed by a car line,
now being double tracked to
give adequate, speedy service to
the camp. High altitude of the
camp insures cool,
a&d sanitation experts with the
army have emphasized in (heir re-
ports the health ful drainage and
surroundings of the site.

Worth can enjoy something not
