nmuGly porting such a sign:
‘‘This war industry closed for
lack of electric power.”
Yet power shortages have
hampered German factories.
With all their other substitutes,
the Nazis haven't yet invented
an ersatz electricity!
They’ve tried to fill the gap
by kidnapping workers from
all conquered countries. But
the muscles ot whip - lashed
men can’t compete with power-
driven machines.
America ij more fortunate.
There's no power shortage here
in South md Southwest Texas
cr in t. o r: on.
America has five times more
electric power than in the last
war. More power than all the
Axis combined! And no tear
industry served by the elec-

seven-eighths of th.s nc .ion's

Uncle Sam Says:
HEED 1011!
Mr. and Mrs. America —
to help win the war!
You can do it by following the Golden Rules
Of Food Rationing.
CENTRAL POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY
Share your food with
th« fighters, protecting
your home.
Accept rationing cheer-
fully — help make it
work.
Learn to use your ration
book right. If an article
calls for 13 points, use
the 8 and 5 point stamps
in settlement, reserving
the 1 and 2 point stamps
for low point articles.
Plan your family's diet
carefully — plan menus
ahead for a week or a
month—fee that every-
one gets enough nour-
ishment.
Eliminate waste — use
all leftovers.
6 Use the more plentiful
non - rationed foods
whenever you can. Eat
more fresh vegetables
and fruits.
7 Don’t complain if your
favorite food is all
gone. Select your next
choice and enjoy it. This
is war.
8 In order that your gro-
cer may give you better
service, ke-sp your ra-
tioned items together
when making payment,
and have ready the
exact number of points
needed. Your grocer
cannot give you change
in rtemps.
