St. Francis Club
Elects Officers
The St. Francis Parents’ Club
"had a meeting Monday afternoon
of last week to discuss plans for
the St. Francis school children's
Christmas party which was held
Monday, Dec. 20, at 2 o’clock in
the school building.
The club also elected new
officers: Clarence Bertrand, presi-
dent; Mrs. Ed Dalton, vice-presi-
dent, and Clarence Wink, secre-
tary-treasurer.

Is Club Hostess
Mrs. Lester Lusk arranged the
program for members of the Lib-
erty Community Club when they
met Dec. 14 in her home for a
Christmas party.
Mrs. B. K. Bentley gave a read-
ing, The Night Before Christmas,
and the group participated in
games and the singing of carols.
Club pals were revealed when
gifts were distributed from a color-
fully decorated tree.
Refreshments of sandwiches, in-
dividual cakes and punch were
served to Mesdames Bentley, L. F.
Detten, Mort Lynch, F. A. Metcalf,
Maria J. Metcalf, H. R. Pugh, J.
W. Randall, L. C. Robinson, John
Slater, M. L. Vance, W. H. Lusk,
Misses Martha and Doris Metcalf.
Mrs. Slater will be hostess to
the club Jan. 11.
Fine Arts Club
Has Yule Party,
The Christmas party for mem-
bers of the? Fine Arts Club, their
husbands and guests, was held
Thursday evening, Dec. 16, in the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E.
Randel with Mrs. Alfred Bell and
Mrs. M. G. Weeth as hostesses.
Entertaining rooms were decorat-
ed in the Christmas motif.
Mrs. Charles Lemons, program
chairman, introduced Mrs. J. E.
Southwood, who gave the devo-
tional, and Dr. Charles W. Garrett,
who told a Christmas story.
Also on the program was a
grcup of Christmas songs by the
high school choir composed of
Paula Calliham, Dixie Brown,
Dona Rorex, Margaret Randel,
Marilyn Russell, Alice Surratt,
Ben Naylor and IVayne Mohon,
under the direction of Leslie
Talbert.
Refreshments were served to
50 guests.
