FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
IN MEXIA THURSDAY
FOR J. S. KILGORE
Mr. and Mrs.- Glenn Kilgore
were called to Mexia last Satur-
day on account of the serious ill-
ness of his father, J. S. Kilgore,
who passed away at his home
there Wednesday. Funeral ser-
vices were conducted at the First
Baptist church in that city Thurs-
day afternoon at 3 o’clock, with
interment in the Mexia cemetery.
The Kilgore family were well
known in McGregor having made
their liom^j on the Caufield
Ranch, nine miles southeast of
the city, which place they sold
and removed to Mexia during the
early part of last year.
Besides his wife, Mr. Kilgore
is survived by two daughters,!
Miss Luttie Kilgore and Mrs. Ed-j
win Larson, Mexia; and three i
soils, Ralph of Rosebud; Glenn of
McGregor and Granville of
Mexia.
Among those attending the fun-
eral from McGregor were Mr.
and Mrs. Will Orr, Mrs. Frankie
McBride, Mrs. Frank Sharp, Mo-
ran Meador and Mr. and Mrs.
Neil McBride.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Bishop
of Valley Mills were guests in
the Mr. and Mrs. F. II. Hamlett
home last Sunday. Mr. Bishop
is editor of the Valley Mills Tri-
bune.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cherry and
son, Kent of Temple and Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Phipps and son,. Jack
■of Marlin spent Sunday here with
Mrs. W. F. Dowis. Mrs. Dowds
returned to Marlin ofr a visit
there.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Fortune
and daughter, Joan spent last
week-end in Waco as guests in
the home of Mrs. Fortune’s par-
ents. Her mother, Mrs. Moran,
returned home vdth them for a
visit.
