Schools Ready...
(Continued from Page 1)
to attend classes any time dur-
ing the week.
Dunbar is planning a special
program for Tuesday night. In-
termediate school, which has
been getting displays ready for
the parents to see, will have a
radio program over KERB at
10:30 Tuesday. Throughout the
week, visitors will be served re-
freshments in the school caf-
eteria.
A|enior High, in addition to the
open house and parents’ visita-
tion program on Tuesday, will
have a play, “Tex, Two
Knuckles and a Note,” at as-
sembly on Wednesday, and a
Senior High group also will
present a play, “After The Hon-
eymoon” for members of the
Downtown Lions Club Thursday
noon.
Theme for this year’s Ameri-
can Education Week is “Praise
and Appraise.”
Darrel Mayer, Director of
Activities for Kermit Schools,
says in addition to the school-
wide programs being planned
several home-room groups are
arranging special programs for
the week.
“We want everyone to know
that he is especially welcomed
at all the schools this week,”
Mayer emphasized. “We be-
lieve it will bring about a clos-
er feeling between parents and
schools for those who attend our
school programs this week.”
MUSKRAT NOT REALLY RAT
A muskrat is not a rat but
an amphibious rodent of the
vole group and' more nearly
related to the beaver than to
the rat.
