On November 8th the people of
Texas are to vote on a number
of highly Important changes in
our constitution as well as elect
21 members of the State Board
of Education. It is highly Im-
portant that as many people as
possible vote on the Issues and
candidates before them. This last
legislative session cost the tax-
payers, In pay to membeis and
their aides, a record sum. Thus
at least this time, putting up
more money for the lawmakers
didn't bring about any savings.
Quite the contrary. >

the ballot has many far-reach-
ing possibilities that should mer-
it the most careful study by Tex-
as voters. It Is the one which
increases the pay of legislators
five hundred percent and. tied
Inseparably to this, provides for
a regular legislative session each

Annual regular sessions would
mean new laws each year and.
the people would be agitated all■

what to expect next. Under our
present constitution, if any real:
emergency arises the governor can
