CHILI MEAT LOAF
The main reason we have for
operating our Spanish Kitchen
here in San Antonio, frequently
called America’s Chili Capital, is
to help homemakers serve tastier
foods at lower cost. Here is a rec-
ipe we really think fills a need.
It’s an inexpensive meat loaf with
half as muen meat, yet it’s rich in
flavor and body-building proteins.
Pour off the liquid from a can
of Gebhardt’a Chili conCarne with
beans and mash the beans with 3'
potato masher. Mix well 1 lb.
ground meat, 1 egg, % cup to-
mato catsup and cup rolled
oats. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix
with chili and shape into a loaf.
Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees,
serve hot. If you prefer to slice,
allow loaf to stand 5 minutes.
