WITH CHRISTMAS PARTY
Dr. and Mrs. E. E. Blackwood
entertained the members of the
Thursday Night Club with their
annual Christmas party at their
home on the evening'of Dec. 18
by Mrs. Homer Palmer. A* ex-
cellent paper on "Pioneer Christ-
mas Customs” was given by Mrs.
Eaton with Mrs. Virgil Chaffin
delighting the group with "Los
Pastore in San Antonio.”
The hostesses served date nut
cake topped with, whipped cream
and cherries with olives and cof-
fee to the guests. Plate favors
were corsages of holly tied with
ribbon. * \

A mounted deer head was de-
corated as* Rudolph the rednosed
reindeer and cactus plants cov-
ered with tiny Christinas baubles
was used as the tree, Red car-
nations and holly beautifully ar-
ranged in pottery boots, a Josh
jingle Santa Claus, a kissing ball
filled with mistletoe, and lighted
red and green candles placed
around drift wood and holly
completed the playroom decora-
f-b-qued T-bone steaks,
stuffed baked potatoes, tossed
salad, and assorted relishes were
served buffet style to the group.
.Christmas candies were served
with coffee for the dessert course.
Boyd Anthony wearing a San-
ta’s mask passed out the gifts
from a burlap bag tied with a
green and red bow.
Three games of bridge were
enjoyed by the group with Mr.
and Mrs. Anthony and Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Marshall winning
the prizes.
Club members present includ-
ed the Anthonys, Marshalls,
Blackwoods. Bill Dudneys, Ralph
Cam?5, John Jolkins, Walter
.Durhams Jr. and James Wilker-
sons. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Alte-
meier were guests.
The club will resume meetings
in 1953 at the home Qf Mr. and
Mrs. Ralph Carnes.
