OIL WELL AROUSES
MUCH INTEREST.
Several of the Kendall County
men who want to see an oil well
drilled in Kendall County, under
the plan outlined recently in this
paper, have been active the past
week, and, as a result, a very
considerable block of land has
now been pledged for drilling
purposes, in case that tin* geolo-
gist finds this land to be suf-
ficiently promising to justify the
drilling of a well on any part of
it.
While engaged in obtaining
the pledges to block lands, the
committee also received a num-
ber of encouraging subscriptions
for stock in tin* company which
is to be organized to handle the
oil proposition.—Comfort News.
AUTOMOBILE SALKS
GOOD IN BRADY.
It has been stated that the
sales of automobiles is the best
barometer possible of the finan-
cial condition of a community,
'faking this as a basis it is evi-
dent that McCullough County is
fast getting on a normal footing
Car sales by all dealers have
been good ever since last fall
and the fact that good sales
have been made right on thru
the winter shows that the peo-
ple have the buying power, With
t lu* coming of spring it is pre-
dicted that 1 he demand for cars
will still he much greater and if
a good crop is made here this
year, it will he a difficult matter
to fill t he demand for ears here
this fall. -Brady Sentinel,
