AGO AT GAINESVILLE
Plans for Wedding Changed and Miss
Wilson Became Oil’Man’s Bride
in January.
The second meeting of the recently
organized Good Roads association, is
.scheduled to be held Tuesday after-
noon at the courthouse, and a large
crowd is expected to attend. The j
committees appointed at the first
meeting two weeks ago are expected
to bring large numbers from Iowa
Park, Electra and Burkburnett, and it
is hoped to organize for a good roads
bond issue on a substantial basis.
Burkburnett citizens are already
active, and are planning for a district
bond issue in their part of the county.
The meeting will be held in the dis-
trict court room, starting at 2:30.

Wichita Falls, March 1.—News of a
wedding of more than passing inter-
est to Wichitans has just come to
light; the principals were Albert E.
Brainard and Miss Kathryn Wilson
and the wedding took place at Gaines-
ville more than a month ago while
Miss Wilson was en route home after
a visit here.
It was not until yesterday that news
of the wedding reached here, and it
appears that Mr. and Mrs. Brainard
had kept their secret with unusual
success. It is understood that Mr.
Brainard will return shortly
Brainard accompanied Miss Wilson to
Gainesville, where the license was
obtained and the ceremony performed.
Mrs. Brainard’ then proceeded to her
home and Mr. Brainard returned to

Dallas; /Texas.—The. Sixth Na-
tional Corn-Exposition', -which has
just closed in'thisvcity .after a two
.weeks' successful * sessioq, is cle-
clared^^by^ibse ' in
the event to be one of the., greatest
agricultural, displays ever held jrr
the South. The cream of the agri?
cultural products of the nation was
on display and the attendance was
drawn from every section of the
United States and Canada. The
educational, features of the exposi-
tion appealed alike to the-farmer
and the business man and taught
them both an economic lesson in
the matter of production.
It is the purpose of the expo.*
sition each year to display the most
wonderful achievements of the Am-
erican fanner and to point out
the best and most effective man-
ner of getting the -full fruits of his
coil. This is the first time that
Texas has been honored by the.
National Corn Exposition and the
session just closed is said to be
this city. His friends noticed that he
was acquiring furniture and things' among its most successful meetings,
for an apartment, but supposed it was (thirty-seven states and provinces be-
getting in readiness for the event in ?no represented. #

Better Marketing Methods
Discussed.
Not only was the productive side
of agriculture dealt with by the
Exposition, but the marketing fea-
ture of the question was also given
attention. In the address of Hon.
Hatton W. Sumners, who was seni
by a committee of the National
House of Representatives to address »8 See me f^Pa
the exposition on hotter market- * and let me
ing methods ♦ for the American
farmer, it was pointed out that the
big crop is a calamity to the
farmer unless adequate marketing
facilities are afforded. Mr. Sum-
ners stated the problem is one
which cannot he met bv the farm-
er alone, nor yet by the business
man, but that it would .take the
co-operation of both, assisted by the
government, before the problem
could be solved. He advocated the
creation of a bureau, or department,
by .Congress, the function of which
should be to bring into eo-ordinate
action the forces that can work
together in solving this important
problem to the satisfaction of all
concerned, and especially the ‘Am-
erican fanner, who is most vitally
interested.
