Jas. A. Ag-oew is a candidate
for re-election to the office of
County Commissioner ot Commis-
sioner’s Precint1 Number One.
Mr. Agnew is known to the great
majority of. the voters 6f his pre-
cint.
Mr. Agnew. is one of the pres-
ent County Commissioners, and
has made the people a faithful
and honest servant. He has
given his entire time to the du-
ties of the office and expects to
continue to do so should he be
re-elected. He is a man who is
in every way worthy of confi-
dence and support. l*her£ is no
more important office in the
county, and so far as the material
welfare of the people is concern-
ed there is pone so important
as that of commissioner. The
people can not afford to elect any
but good men. There are other
good meu in the race, but Mr.
Agnew hopes t^at the most of
the voters will think he is as the
best of them. .. •
district clerk
Earl McAlster authorizes The
News to announce him as a can-
didate for re-election to the office
of District Clerk. He is now fill-
ing thejdffice for his first term,
and is filling it well. The News
man comes in touch with pretty
well all of the lawyers who do
business with the district t^erk*
and he has never yet heard any
one speak of his work except in
complimentary terms. Certainly
none have made more effort to do
the work well than has Mr* Mc-
Alester. We do not suppose he
will have an opponent, and so
far as we see there is no reason
why the people should desire to
make a change in the office if he
does have. His experience of
two years wiH but the better fit
him for the duties that he has
so faithfully performed. He asks
town, where he was born thirty-
five years ago. He is a son of I thaTthV voters of the countyre-
the late James E. (Uncle Jimmy) elec* him to the office. He is
Pearson, who was one of the worthy of your support. t j
