(3) Not Applicable to Substitution of Carburetors for Fuel Injection on 914s.
SAFETY. Long Sleeve and Full-length pants and fire-resistant clothes are
recommended but not required. For other requirements, see PCR Section D-5; full
shoes, helmets, window, roof panels, set belts, loose objects, tires, etc. Alcohol
may not be comsumed during any driving event.
Check your car for needed maintenance, fluid levels, and tire condition and
pressures before arriving at the driving event sit. You may not compete in a car
that does not pass Tech Inspection.
COMPETITOR'S RULES. See PCR Section D-7. Ignore rules regarding timing slips.
Also, we record tech inspection on the registration slip, turn it in before
beginning runs.
NOTICE PROCEDURES. The Novice Class applies only to track events. If you have
never run at a race track, in a Maverick Region event, you may participate ONLY in
the Novice Class. You MUST notify the event chairman in advance (RSVP) so that
sufficient instructors can be arranged. You will NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK
WITHOUT HAVING BEEN THROUGH NOVICE ORIENTATION, which is designed to familiarize you
with the course. Instruction will include techniques for safely negotiaing corners
and identification of the proper "line" on the course. Novices will receive
practice runs with an instructor in the car. Novices are advised to drive
conservatively in the beginning.15
