A very special meeting was
held at Soda Springs last Fri-
day night when a host or friends
and neighbors gathered at the
Community House to h on o r
Luther and Molly Sledge, long-
time residents of the cofrunun-
ity who are planning on moving
to town Som emight call this a
•farewell” or a "gblng away”
party, but the people of Soda
wanted Luther and Molly to
know it was neither of these,
but rather an appreciation party
for two good friends and neigh-
bors.
After a game* and visiting ses-
sion, the community presented
| the couple with a nice blanket,
sheets and an electric percolator.
I never heard Luther Sledge
make a public speech before, but
lie sure did good on this one
which I quote In full: "Soda
Springs is the best goah dumed
community I ever lived In ”
Luther and Molly, you are just
two of the reasons that state-
ment is true, and as ever, we
expect to see you at Soda!

Our musical entertainment
failed to show, but we old have
a couple of films by way of en-
tertainment and education. For
I was born Apil 30, 1886. near
1 Hamilton, being the daughter of
1 the late W. B. and Nancy Green
She was married to Jess Mar-
lin on November 22, 1903, and
they celebrated their golden wed-
ding anniversary at their Blan-
ket home five years ago. They
had lived in Blanket since 1889
where Mr Marlin has been cons-
table for many years.
Mrs Marlin was a member of
the Church of Christ.
Survivors Include her husband;
two sons. Ray Marlin of Blanket 1
and Harry Marlin of Brownwood;
two daughters, Mrs Lela Fagan
and Miss Faye Marlin, both of
Fort Worth; five brothers. S. B
Green of Brookesmlth, Ed Oreen
of Comanche, Calvin Green of
Button Willows, Calif.. John
