ENFORCE JUDGMENT AGAINST
OIL CONCERN.
(INAl OUSTING OF CONCERN
Attorney General and Associates In
Anti-Trust Litigation Ask For
Sale of Property.
' Austin, Tex., Aug. 31.—The State
yesterday filed a motion in the Twen-
ty-Sixth District Court praying that
Judge Wilcox issue the necessary or-
ders to sell the property of the Waters-
Pierce Oil Company and to make such
other orders as will put into full force
and effect the Judgment cancelling the
Texas permit of the oil company and
perpetually enjoining it from doing
business in Texas.
The motion is signed by Attorney
General Davidson, Assistant Light-
foot and County Attorney Brady. This
this is to be the first opportunity to
sell the property since it went into
the hands of the State’s receiver. The
last of the company’s assets came into
possession of the State’s receiver too
late for the necessary notice and ad-
vertisement of sale to occur at the
last term of court, and the order of
■ale could not be made in vacation,
hence the Attorney General’s motion
yesterday in anticipation of the court
convening next Monday.

long ago, a traveler who could locate

thing was jammed in one corner. The
combination trunk designed by a New
York man is so construfcted that it
will always stand on one end, the top
and sides having convex projections
which insure this. The drawers of
this trunk are so pivoted that they
can be tilted to either a vertical or a
horizontal position. There is a gener-
ous number of drawers and flaps, and
the trunk is especially convenient for
the safe carriage of women’s hats.

Face and Neck Were Raw—Terrible
Itching, Inflammation and Soreness
—All Treatments Failed.
PAINT DURABILITY.
The first thought in painting should,
of course, be durability—and dura-
bility means simply pure paint prop-
erly applied. Pure paint is pure
white lead and linseed oil (with or
without tinting material).
Some years ago the paint-buyer was
likely to get adulterated or counter-
feit wThite lead if he was not familiar
with brands. To-day he may buy
with perfect safety if he only makes
sure that the Dutch Boy Painter
trademark is on the packages of
white lead that he buys. This trade-
mark was adopted by National Lead
Company to distinguish the pure
white lead made by them from the
worthless adulterated and fake goods.

Cuticura Proved a Great Success.
“Eczema began over the top of my
ear. It cracked and then began to
spread. I bad three different doctors
and tried several things, but they did
me no good. At last one side of my
face and my neck were raw. The
water ran out of It so that I had to
wear medicated cotton, and it was so
inflamed and sore that I had to put
a piece of cloth over my pillow to keep
the water from it, and It would stain
the cloth a sort of yellow. The ec-
zema itched so that it seemed as though
J could tear my face all to pieces.
Then I began to use the Cuticura Soap
and Ointment, and it was not more
than three months before it was all
healed up. Miss Ann Pearsons, North-

FILLING UGLY FLOOR CRACKS
Preparation That Can Be Made at
Home Will Do the Work at
Little Cost.
From any hardware dealer who
sells paints and the like for interior
decorations you will be able to get
floor cleaner and filler. If you cannot
bear this expense and have an ugly
floor to be treated you can have the
rough boards planed and fill the wide
cracks with a paste made with news-
papers. Soak the papers in a tub of
water until they are reduced to a
pulp. This takes from one to three
days. Macerate them and mix with
common flour starch in which some
glue Is boiled. If you have a thin mix-
ture you can add sawdust. This Is
a medium smooth paste which can be
put into the cracks with the aid of
a small trowel or steel knife. Smooth
the paste as evenly as possible. In a
few days it will dry. Then give the
entire floor a coating of yellow ochre
or ground filler. It can be purchased
by tb» quart. It is a dull yellow when
dry. IWhen perfectly dry cover the
floor With floor varnish or use paint
thoroughly without the ochre. All di-
rections can bo obtained from the
dealer. When boards are of differ-
ent width fill the cracks and paint a
colid color to hide the defects. Do
not expect a rough board floor to look
like one of waxed hardwood.

which she ended her owe life with the

List of Forfeited Lands.
Austin: Land Commissioner Robin-

which will be sold in October. Some

Child Killed In Runaway.

Smothered Chicken.
When the chicken is dressed ready
for cooking, split it-4own the back
and place flatly in? a covered pan,
dredge with salt, pepper and flour and
spread with softened butter. Have
only enough water in the pan to pro-
duce steam. When closely covered
soon becomes tender. Then remove
cover and brown. Serve with rich
cream gravy. The best way to cook
a spring chicken—far superior to fry-
ing.

Gender.
The other evening Miss Y., a maiden
lady of uncertain years, suspecting

downstairs, called Martha and in-
quired whether she did not hear some
one talking with her.
"Oh, no, ma’am,” cried the quick-
witted Martha; “It was only me sing-
ing a psalm.”
“Very good,” returned Miss Y. sig-
nificantly; “you may amuse yourself
with psalms, but let’s have no hlms.’
