Auxiliary Officers Are
Installed Monday Night

Monday night in Fellowship Hall
of First Methodist Church. Of-
ficers to head the organization
during the coming year are:
Mrs. C. R. Woodfield, president;
Mrs. Leon Stearns, vice - pres-
ident; Mrs. Ruth Silliman,
treasurer; Mrs. Nancy Cham-
pion, secretary; Mrs. Lida
She helped with the snack bar
for three years and now has
285 hours on the floor.
Also reported was a member-
ship of 65 active workers, with
24 new members reported dur-
ing the year. A total of 525
hours were reported for October,
bringing the total to 5,120 hours.
Mrs. Verne Jackson was in-
stalling officer. She presented
Moore, recording secretary and'each new officer a, corsage and

Glenn Kenley, hospital admin-
istrator, praised the Pink Ladies
for their work and said the hos-
pital is a better institution with
the extra services rendered by
the group.
Entertainment program was
presented by Mrs. W. L. Ether-
edge, who gave two comedy
readings and an inspirational
chalk talk by Mrs. Ray Patten.
Margaret Branscum played pi-
ano accompaniment for Mrs.
Patten and Joyce Reynolds was
soloist. Theme of the presenta-
tion was Let The Lower Lights
Be Burning.
Annual reports were given by er, Mrs
out-going officers. A resume of
the year’s activities and accom-
plishments was presented. Su-
zanne Peden was recognized for

bad, appear here. The chapter is sponsoring the Thunderbirds appearance, which
is to be in Kermit High School gymnasium Saturday, Nov. 18, beginning at 8 p.m.
The Thunderbirds are sponsored by Carlsbad Kiwanis Club and will present au-
thentic Indian dances in colorful costumes. Members of the committee in charge of
bringing the performance to Kermit are, left to right, Mrs. Don Brown, Mrs.
Maurice Partin, Mrs. Bill Jackson, committee chairman, Mrs. R. W. Taylor and Mrs.
Walter Anderson (standing), chapter president. Committee members not present

TWO KERMIT STUDENTS

Two students from Kermit
are enrolled at the University
of Houston for the fall semes-
ter, 1961. They are Bill J. Dulin,
graduate mathematics major,
and Alice V. Dulin, 704 East
Austin, freshman.
Concluding study
America was held when all
circles of Woman’s Society of
Christian Service, First Meth-
odist Church met Tuesday
morning.
Mrs. Richard Horner presid-
ed during the business session
when plans were discussed for
serving the Lions Club luncheon
Thursday, Nov. 9. Also an-
nounced was the general meet-
ing to be Tuesday, Nov. 14.
Mrs. J. M. Lipham reminded
officers to have reports ready
by Nov. 15.
Mrs. C. C. Gallagher asked
that all blocks of the Friend-
ship quilt be completed within
the next three days. This quilt
is to be sold at auction at the
WSCS Bazaar Friday, Dec. 1.
