Industrial chemist to spoak
Dr. Jim T. Hill will speak on
"An Industrial Approach to the
Environmental Assessment of a
Large Volume Industrial Com-
pound" today at 2 pxa: in room
175 of the Foster Science
Building.
Dr. Hill is with the Industrial
Chemicals. Division of the Mon-
santo Company in St. Louis:
He will be in the chemistry
office in the science building at
11 a.m. to discuss career
opportunities In industrial chem-
istry. Dr. Hill was graduated from
ACU with a chemistry degree
and he holds M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees from the University of
Tennessee. '
Fish select cheerleaders
Six freshman cheerleaders
were elected last week from a
group of 12 finalists.
The squad is Halcyon Back
from McLean Brenda Bowen
from Corsicana Kim Kirby from
Lometa Gary Cox from Hous-
ton Kern Rasco from Abilene
and Kevin Womack from Tyler
Other finalists were Stacy

Pittengcr and Jay Singleton.
The finalists were selected
Oct. 5 from a group of 23. The
freshman class elected . the six
after try-outs Oct. 7.
Steelman to spoak Friday
Rep. Alan Steelman of Dallas
Republican candidate for the
U.S. Senate seat will speak in
the Main Room of the Campus
Center immediately after chapel
Friday.
Several to attend conference
Oklahoma Christian College
will host the annual Christian
College Student Government
Conference Thursday through
Saturday.
The purpose is to exchange
ideas between the colleges
participating and to discuss
various student government act-
ivities according to Garvin
Beauchamp vice president of
student personnel services. The
conference will cover spiritual
and extra curricular functions.

Voters to receive certificates
Students who registered to
vote recently should expect
return of their voter registration
certificate soon.
The office of the County Tax
Assessor-Collector had to
compile a master list of
registered voters to be run
through a computer. The list
should be completed 30 days
prior to the November election.

High School Day set for Oct. 30
A record number is expected
to attend the fall High School
Day on Oct. 30 according to the
Office of Student Recruiting.
The students will begin the day
with a reception at 9 a.m. in the
Main Room of the Campus
Center where they will meet
some of the faculty administra-
tors and students.
At 945 a.m. a chapel service

at 10:30 a.m. The class of 1976
will meet in the activity center
of College Church of Christ at
1 1:30 a.m.
The class of 1951 will have a
luncheon at 11:30 a.m. in the
Main Room. The class began its
25th reunion at a reception
Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the
Campus Center.
Highlighting today's activities
will be the ACU-East Texas
State football game beginning at
2 pjn. at Shotwell Stadium.
Pre-game activities will be at
1:30 pjn. during which time the
Homecoming queen her court
and Emeriti Adams and Smith
will be honored.
During halftime of the game
winners of the student projects
will be announced. The projects
will be on display on the
grounds between Moody Coli-
seum and the .Campus Center
today until noon and from 5
until 10 tonight.
will be held followed by a pep
rally at 10:15 a.m. Financial aid
and academic counseling will be
available at 11:15 a.m. in the
campus center.
The Brothers quartet will
present gospel singing at 12:15.
Another counseling session will
follow at 1:15 p.m.
A tour of the campus will
begin at 2 p.m. From 3 till 4:45
activities end Sunday
The displays are judged in
three divisions: classes and
organizations; men's social clubs;
and women's social clubs. Each
project Is limited to a 16- by
10-foot area and must cost
under $125. Each should relate
the Homecoming theme; the
Homecoming musical 'The
King and I;" and the football
game.
Five faculty and staff mem-
bers judge the projects for
originality artistic design theme
