Abortion
Leaders made aware of problem

"Please do not leave here thinking that
only the bad kids get in trouble. Please
do not leave here thinking that abor-
tion Isn't present in the church. Please
do not leave here notknowing the
enormity of the problem."
An ACU alumria who had an abor-
tion in 1972 made this plea Thursday
to local Church of Christ leaden in
volvcd in the lives of young people.
She spoke at a dinner sponsored by the
Mother and Unborn Baby Care
Center of Abilene.
The purpose of the dinner was to in
form preachers elders youth
ministers and counselors that there is a
problem right here In Abilene.
In 1985 467 Abilene teenagers bet-
ween the ages of 13 and 19 received
positive pregnancy tests at the Mother
and Unborn Baby Care Center said

The national rate of teenage
