so competitive he didn't want to miss a
single meet."
Olson said he likes jumping the in-
door circuit and "you've got to make a
living somewhere and there's no living
to be made outdoors at least not for
me. And I enjoy indoors more."
But he does plan to cut back his
activity.
"Part of my goal is jumping on a
limited basis'" Olson said "not going
crazy with all the back-to-back meets.
Hopefully things like that and just be
ing cautious along the way are going to
keep me htalthy.Hopefully after the
Indoor season I'll be able to take o
month ofl'and let my body heal up and
start slowly slowly training for '88."
But for now Hood thinks his former
student is vaulting better than he ever
has even better than when Olson
became the first person to vault over
19 feet at an indoor meet.
"He was moving real good and run
nlng super" Hood said of Olson's
most recent record vault. "He's pro-
bably running better now than he's
ever run in his life."

Sophomore Brett Enzor said the
Yclkmckets made the road game
difficult.
"They weren't going to give up on
their own home court" Enzor said.
"They kern fighting back. 1 think we
got some Key breaks. Each time they
started pulling closer I think wc sort
of had a concentration breakdown. So
tare fust stepped back and looked at
ourselves and decided we needed to get
things going and open up the lead
again."
ACtf opened up a 13-point halftimc
lead 45-32 by outscoring the Yellow
jackets 10-0' over the final 4:08 of the
half.
Howard Payne came put after the in-
termission and returned the favor
outscorjng ACU 12-2 in the first five
minutes of the second half to close the
gap to three 47-44.

going from Roderick Johnson at

Michael Williams for the layup
-started them on tt Scoring binge that
put them up by 15 5944 with 8:47
remaining.
Once again the Yellowjackets tried
to come bock getting as close as sue
several times late in the game mostly
on long-distance jumpers from 20 feet
and out.
"They were unbelievable tonight"
Martin said of the Yellowjackcts'out-
side shooting. "They really were.
They'd hit down the stretch just time
and again. We'd score and they'd score
from 20. We'd score and they'd hit
from 20 again J hope we can make
some adjustments" to-t op that next
time."
With just 37 seconds left in the con-
test momentum seemed to be on the
Yellowjackets' side as they trailed by
six and had the Cat oiTcnseunt racked.
