House of Governor Hobby’s ten-mile

prohibition forces of the Texas legis-
lature apparently are in the saddle.
The House also passed the drouth re-
lief bill appropriating $2,000,000 to be
loaned by the state to counties for the
purchase of feed and seed for farmers.
The ten-mile zone bill aa passed by
the House wouhf put prohibition in ef-
fect on April 1 about all places where
men in the armed service of the Unit-
ed States are quartered for any pur-
pose and about all shipyards at work
on government contra eta. The meas-
ure now goes to the Senate.

cial needs. His especial object was to

of the Germans in France and Bel

He also set forth that Fannin Coun-1
ty, while one of the great rich coun-
ties of Texas, had so far proved her-
self to be a slacker when it come* to
putting her money up for the govern-
ment. The county haa failed so far
to give her quota for the Red Cross

en far short of her duty in investing
