BUILDING GOOD HOADS
There is a Vast Difference
Texas Is Still in the lead, a Posi-
tion That She Should Con-
tinue to Hold
Between SPENDING your money for a lawn mower that you know
nothing about, and INVESTING your money in one of the famous
Coldwell Ball Bearing
Lawn Mowers
The first is an expense, and after a year or so is money thrown
away. The other is an investment that will bring you returns and
give you your money’s worth for many years.

High Cost of Living
is largely due to not keeping a close check on expendi-
tures. Open a bank account today. Pay all your bills with ^
a check and mark on each check the purpose for which ^
it is drawn. Have your book balanced each month and
you will know when every chech was used, and also
have a receipt for the money. You will be surprised-at
how little you get for some of the dollars you spend.
Seeing our customers get ahead is our hobby. We
will furnish the pass book and checks, no matter how
small the account. Come in talk it over.

Mayor Hargrove and Alderman
Me Anally have just returned from
Dallas, where they have beeu look
iug after Bonham’s basis insurance
rate. Besides saving much in the
way of insurance, Mayor Hargrove
informs us that he has secured the
consent of the- T. & P. people to
“set” the city’s cars of water
mains on the track in Bois d’An-
bottom, so that much hauling can
lie avoided. This alone will save
something like #200 expense. He
also says that Bonham’s insurance
rate, that is, the key rate, can be
reduced to about 37c; however, it
will be about 42c for some time
yet, but it can finally be cut to 37c
if we will all work together. This
will mean a great saving for Bon
ham from the present rate. It is
estimated that about #50,000 a
year is paid out here for insurance,
and the rate being 64c this #50,
000 will be cut in the same propor-
tion that about 42 bears to 64,
hence you can see many thousands
of dollars will be saved. We call
our readers’ attention to the fact
that the mayor and the officials art-
doing something. We want to be
in at tin- “doing” and the columns
of our paper are open to any pub-
lic service and we are always j |
ready to help.

The Modern CaJoric
Saves Fuel—Save* Money- Saves Time-Saves Worry
Trouble and Dincuinf rt.
Do not confuse the "Caloric with ordinary, so-called
"fireless cookers,” there’s a difference.
The “Caloric” will save you the most money anddo more
than any other because it will bake and roast food in its raw
state without first heating or partially cooking over a fire, as
well as stew, steam, boil, etc.
Remember this the “Caloric” is a cook stove and can be us
ed the year round, winter and summer. It is even moreeconom
ical for use in winter than in summer because our patented
steatite radiators can be partially heated on the steam or hot
water coils or by any other method used in heating the home.
Think of what a great conven-
ience it would be to spend only
a few moments in preparing the
food, then place in the "C aloric’
when no further atte lion is re-
quired no care, no worry, prac-
tically no expense.
Made in ten different sizes for
large and small families. We
will gladly show them to you
upon request,
