By DESMOND YEO
STUDENT REPORTER
Meals on Wheel Plus Inc. a
private non-profit organi-
zation has been relying on vol-
unteers to help deliver meals to
the low-income homebound
community in Abilene since
1975.
Since then the organization
has grown from delivering food
to 40 people to its current count
of approximately 700.
The majority of the recipients
of food are either disabled or
elderly and do not have anyone
to help them prepare meals.
Volunteers in Abilene con-
tribute their time and money to
help the organization provide
healthy. meals to the recipients.
