Ronnie Milsap ticket sales have been
slow but Mark Slough Student's
Association campus entertainment
director said he is optimistic about the
concert.
Slough said ticket sales have been
slow because of the concert's com-
petition with Sing Song and spring
break as well as two other Abilene
country music concerts featuring four
big-name country music stars.
At the March 20 Student Senate
meeting Slough said the Senate has not
brpken even yet on ticket sales but he
said he was not overly concerned.
Slough said "Abilene is a notoriously
last-minute town." About 1000 tickets
to the Hank Williams Jr. concert March
17 were sold at the door the night of the
concert. For this reason Slough said he
thinks the SA is doing well on ticket
sales thus far.
Also Friday and Saturday should be
good days for ticket sales he said
because Friday Is usually payday. The
ticket office in Moody Coliseum will be
open all day Saturday to sell tickets to
last-minute buyers.
Slough said he is not worried about
breaking even on the concert because
he and Milsap's management team
expect about 2500-3000 people to at-
tend. This estimate was derived from
the number of people who attended the
Milsapconcert two years ago he said.
"To go to a concert (or under $10 is
Incredible" Slough said. KEAN Radio
and Q-100 Radio also agree Uie concert
Is a good deal he said.
More than 600 tickets are available
for sale In the surrounding area said
Teal Gamble sophomore finance
major tfrom Tuba OkJa. About 100
tickets are available for sale In each
surrounding city and about 250 tickets
are on sale in Abilene.
KEAN Radio is giving away two
front-row-center tickets. Also included
in the package is a chance to meet
Milsap and a dinner at the Klva Inn.
