the role of Grimes Who was the
editor of the paper from 1919-1961.
Throughout his career as a jour-
nalist Grimes wrote more than 200
holiday editorials.
"I read all the editorials that he
wrote during his lifetime" Marter
said. "I knew many of them were
superb little essays about different
aspects of Christmas."
Dr. Ted Starncs adapted portions
of book for narration and will direct

diagnosed as having a brain tvmor
Tuesday.
Caughfield was scheduled to
criter surgery Friday at 9 a.m. in
Dallas at Presbyterian Hospital
Doctors in Dallas will operate in an
effort to remove part of the tumor
which is believed to be malignant

Gray said Caughfield had com-
plained of vlsion'problems for
about three or four months' but
thought it was only n problem with
his eye glasses. Doctors now have
said the tumor was affecting his

Caughfield joined the faculty in
1965 He Is the director of Aca-
demic Computing and an associate
professor of computer scknec.
His wife Alice worked for the
Business Office from 1978-83 and
his daughter Cynthia Harp of Flo-
rence graduated in 1984 His son
Dwight Keith CauglrfkW of Auro-
ra Colo. attended ACU from 1981-
85 and his son Lance Caughfield
is a senior political science major.
