Amendment No. 9
Representative Brimer offered the following amendment to CSSB 1:

Amend CSSB 1 as follows:
(1) Add the following appropriately numbered rider under the Article I
appropriations to the Library and Archives Commission (page 1-63):
. TEXAS STATE LIBRARY. The amount of $493,170 is appropriated
out of the general revenue fund to the Texas State Library for the state fiscal
year ending August 31, 2003, for the purpose of purchasing Soundex reel tapes
of the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census.
(2) Reduce the Article I appropriations to the Texas Preservation Board
(page 1-68), by $500,000 for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2003.
(3) Adjust totals and methods of financing appropriately.
Amendment No. 10
Representative Brimer offered the following amendment to Amendment
No. 9:
Amend the Brimer Amendment to CSSB 1 as follows:
(1) On page 1, line 7, after "Texas State Library" insert "and Archives
Commission".
(2) On page 1, strike lines 10-12, and substitute the following:
(3) Reduce the Article I appropriations to the State Preservation Board for
Strategy A.1.2, Building Maintenance (page 1-68), by $493,170 for the state
fiscal year ending August 31, 2003.
Amendment No. 10 was adopted without objection.
Amendment No. 9, as amended, was adopted without objection.
Amendment No. 11
Representative Garcia offered the following amendment to CSSB 1:

Amend CSSB 1 in Article II of the bill following the appropriation to the
Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (page II-8) by adding the following
appropriately numbered rider:
. Out of the funds appropriated above in Strategy A.1.1, Prevention
Services, and Strategy A.1.2, Intervention Services:
(1) in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2002, the Commission on
Alcohol and Drug Abuse shall allocate $500,000 to implement substance abuse
prevention and intervention programs located in Health and Human Services
Region 3a that target low-income, at-risk, Spanish-speaking youth; and
(2) in the fiscal year ending August 31, 2003, the commission shall
allocate $500,000 for the purpose described by Subdivision (1).
Amendment No. 11 was adopted without objection.
