Section C
To know or not to know, that is the ques-
tion ... as Cpl. Long walked into the
Orderly Room the other morning with bed-
room eyes and his lips covered with lip-
sticko Now, Cplo Long insists he doesn*t
know how it got there. What do you think?
What would the girl friend back home
think?
Congratulations to the Section C ball
team for their outstanding performance in
winning the championship from Section Bo
We understand Section B isn*t taking it
sitting down®
Sgto Lawrenoe Po Weidner who enlisted on
July 22, 1941, has long been looked up to
as the model soldiero But recently, some-
thing has gone wrong. The halo is no
longer over Sgto Weidner*s head and he
tries to set the pace for the old-timers
at the NCO Clubo
Here*s a scoop on the Special Service
officeo Section C now has the Olsons and
the Johnsons, the Abbotts and the Costel-
los and is seeking a partner for Hardyo
What has Hollywood got that Section C
hasn*t got?
I am told that the Post Fire Department
is really on the beam these days, and are
starting to catch fires before they hap-
pen. Ask the boys in Hangar #1 as they
were the witnesses on this occasion0

Section C Trainees
By Cpl. Paul R. 0*Malley
We*ve all heard about parting being
such sweet sorrow<> Well, Section f,C,,f it
looks like we have come to the parting of
the ways. We are the group of Trainees
who have been giving you such a sad time
for the past five weeks o For some
strange reason the parting isn*t a sor-
rowful one0 It*s very sweet though.
By this time you*ve about given up all
hope for us but, wait and see, some of us
will make the.grade. Perhaps that*s being
a bit presumptuous but time will tell.
You have heard lots of crabbing ...
more than you*ve heard before, but you
know how that workso What*s that saying,
"a crabbing soldier is a happy soldier. **
That must be the way because this base is
tops. Some of the facilities aren*t the
best but the fact that they are present
is what makes things lovable. Let*s all
take a quick check and see if we realize
what*s available. How about the theater,
swimming pool, service club, bowling
alleys and the War Room. Incidentally,
the writer has seen nine bases and that
War Room is the best there is. Use it
fellowso Someday you*11 appreciate it.
Those of us who were lucky enough to be
allowed to join the NCO Club have one
more sweet memory. The attitude and
feeling at the club is remarkable. So
complete a layout as it is would make
most Officer*s Clubs look sick. It*s
really on the ball.
You didn*t even notice that almost 25$
of our men did manage to get furloughso
You*ve been too busyo You tried to help
us out but couldnH divert much of your
time - you*ve been too busy. We have
learned quite a bit, more than you real-
ize because you*ve been too busy. Some
of you don*t think you are achieving much
but look at the war fronts and you can
understand where all these men who have
flown your planes are making it count.
It all comes right back to you - that*s
why you*ve been too busy. You are doing
far more than you realize. You Section
**C,U have been swell to us. Thanks,
that*s all we can say now but before many
weeks are past that ^Thanks** will be far
more meaningful. We will leave with our
heads high and with a few fond memories.
Someday, I*m sure, some of us will meet
again. Here’s hoping. Best of luck and
thanks again.
