Married at Robstown
Wednesday afternoon Captain
J. W. Long of this city was
married to Miss Fannie Ligon of
Gonzales, at the home of her fa-
ther in Robstown, Texas.
Our report of the facts is some-
what incomplete, but we are in-
formed that this union is the out-
come' of some fifteen years ac-
quaintance.
Captain Long'is one of the
most progressive citizens of Ar-
ansas Pass, and has always been
one of its greatest boosters and
advertisers.
In 1909 he moved to Aransas
Pass aboard the launch Sea Wing
and operated the boat between
Aransas Pass and Port Aransas
when it was most needed, often
financial loss, but his persever-
ance won out and he is at pres-
ent head of the Long Transpor-
tion Company, which operates
tation Company, which operates
boats successfully between Aran-
sas Pass and Port Aransas and
carries over ninety per cent of
the local freight and express to
and from these places.
The Captain and his bride will
arrive in Aransas Pass Saturday
night to make it their future
home, and the Progress wishes
for them a long and happy life.
