GETTING READY TO RESUME
DRILLING AT RQCKPOR?
“L. Burrows, the driller employed by
H. 10. Bahr/ Trustee, to complete the
Karris Tract well, arrived in liockpori
Monday- and Tuesday started to
work.”- said the lioekpovt Pilot.
p> ‘‘There is much repair work to be
done on the rig before actual drilling
can be resumed. However, Mr. Pur-
rows said to the Pilot editor that he
expected to start drilling next. Tuesday,
if everything went along smoothly.
“Sir. Burrows comes here with the
best of recommendations, having letters
to show that he has been in the oil
fields for more than seventeen years,
and having many successful wells to
bis credit, according to Mr. I-I E lialir
“Yesterday Mr. Balm took Mr. Bur-
rows over the six thousand acre lease.
Mr. .Burrows said the gas mounds were
fine, aud that while the Harris tracts
location looked to him like a proven
field,, some of the land on the six
thousand acre lease, which is controlled
by Mr. Bnhr hi his Trustee proposition,
looks even better than the land around
the present location of the well.
“Mr, Burrows will receive a consid-
erable bonus in acreage if lie brings in
a well here, and the quicker he brings
ft fa, ike more acreage he will get. He
-lays lie sees a fortune in sight for him
if he brings in a wed, and lie is going
make every effort to make this pen-
insuhi the biggest oil field in Texas.
! - xue crew at the well is working
cirisgSExly, and by next week everything
wilL IT put back in perfect readiness.
Mr. Burrows did not say whether he
w.-.uk; nteuipt to bring in a well at the
pres, (it depth, or whether he would
pull'the easing, or continue drilling
-tat? let the casing stand. Mr. Bnhr
said the driller wants to put the drill
stem in the hole first and see just
where ho is “at.”
“Mr. Bahr still says that ho believes
he will have an oil well by Thanksgiv-
ing day, or at least by Christmas.

Aransas Pass Testimony Remains'
l 'nshakeo
Time is the best test of truth. Here
is an Aransas -Pass story that has
stood the test of time. It is a story
with a point which will come straight
home to many of us.
P. F. Booker, Aransas Pass, gave
the following account of his experience
Doan’s Kidney Pills May 13;
IJlo; “Some years ago I had an at-
tack of acute pains through the small
of my back. I think this trouble was
brought on by a condition of the
drinking water here. A friend ad-
vised me to use Doan’s Kidney Pills
so I bought a box. Doan’s proved en-
tirely satisfactory, removing the
trouble. Since that time J have never
been bothered.”
On April 7, 1 DID, Mr. Booker said:
"l am just as firm a believer in Doan’s
Kidney Pills today as when I gave my
former statement. The cure' Doan’s
made for me years ago has proven
;o lie permanent. My back bothers |
a* occasionally, but Doan’s always
fix ' me up.”

It choose and when you choose, with
your family or your friends. Enjoy

air, a lunch in a shady wood, a fishing
excursion, a rest by a cool-lake or stream.
You can in a Ford. Millions have learned
by experience that to own and operate
a Ford is not an extravagance; they
have learned that the many pleasures
derived from a Ford takes the place
of other pleasures, and the saving
thus made often pays for the car and its
maintenance.
Let’s talk this matter over. Get the
