HOMECOMING EXTRA
d The Law of Sportsmanship
Good Americans try to become strong and useful worthy of their
nation" that our country may become ever greater and better. There-
fore they obey the laws of right living which the best Americans
have ah)3 obeyed. Good Americans play fair. Sstrong play in-
creases and trains one's strength and courage. Sportsmanship
helps one he u gentleman a lady. Therefore:
(1; I will not cheat. I will keep the rules but I will play the
.Mine hard for the fun of the game to win by strength and skill.
If I .should not "play fair the loser would lose the fun of the game
the winner would lose his self respect and the game itself would
become a mean and often cruel business.
(2) 1 will treat my opponents with courtesy and trust them if
they deserve it. I will be friendly.
(3) If I play in a group game I will play not for my own
glory but for the success of my team.
(4) I will be a loser or a generous winner.
(5) In my work as well as in my play I will be sportsmanlike
generous fair honorable. National Education Association Journal.

HOPEFUL OF TAKING
(Continued from Page I)
to state thnt the products meet-
ing this afternoon arc from the
two most powerful team-producing
schools in West Texas.
Possibly we'll view the Matador
band in routine this afternoon as
an added attraction when they
throng the downtown section pa-
rading up and down the main
thoroughfares of the city.
Too our own Cowgirls enhanc-
ing the color of the Cowboy
Band internationally-famous or-
ganization will perhaps follow
up. Reports have drifted toward
this operative that they have
evolved a new stunt for the game
festivities this afternoon.
Good Season Behind
Spoils writers on the Toreador
student newspaper at Tech and
sponsor of the special have thi
to say about the two evenly-
matched teams:
"A comparison of the two tennis
shows them to be about equal
both from the standpoint of re-
sults and potential strength. The
lines will have a tough battle all
afternoon trying (o determine
which is the superior. The back-

men with the ability to pass
punt or run in broken field. Pec
for the Cowboys will bo rivaled
by Moffctt and Close in the aerial
attempts."
Predictions from contempora-
ries indicate that the Matadors
will show themselves as a new
team though they were miser-
ably humbled by the Cowhands
last year on their own field 200.
Feed Festivities
The festive group will lie escort-
ed to Simmons' Parramoro field
at 2:1)0 for the game and after-
wards various socials and func-
tions will occupy the time until
shortly after midnight when the
Tech special will depart puffing
toward Lubbock until the early
morning.
