We Are For You
Closing a very1 successful season with the game today a large part of this squad will return to
Simmons for one or two more seasons With the Purple and Gold. This group of men have only suf-
fered one defeat from a Texas Conference team this year and that from an inspired delegation of
Jackets.
Simmons Has Wide
Margin On Scoring
Individual scoring in the Texns
Conference was practically cur-
tained with the clashes of last
week-end. George Smith frisky
fullback from South western
made un entry for the first time
in several weeks while his team
was whipping Trinity 20 0. This
practically cinches second place
honors for him with 4i points
scored and one game to go.
Carl Pee of Simmons was stop
ped by the Yellow Jackets but his
leadership was as safe as a gov-
ernment bond. Ho is running
far ahead with 83 points.

TOUGH GAME TODAY
Continued from page thteo)
or our own period.
1931 Freshmen Powerful
The present campaign one of
brilliant victories and humiliat-
ing defeats can best be viewed as
a stepping stone to greater glory.
The 1931 squad is made up almost
entirely of sopbomorcs. These
mixed with the power of the
freshmen squad should give
Coach Cawthon an array of ma-
terial undreamed of by any West
Texas coach. Since next fall's
tentative schedule calls for games
with three Southwest conference
toams and two representatives of
the Rocky Mountain circuit it
can be said that Cawthon and
Ills staff are introducing "big
time" football to the Texas Tech
followers. Only recently the 1031
"fish" ran rough shod over the
Canyon yearlings by a 40 to 0
ecoro while early in the season
they threw a scare into the var-
sity only to see it fade in the fin-
al minutes of play when the Mat-
adors scored a 13 to 7 victory.

points represents the most disas
trous experienced by a Matador
squad. Since that year the trend
of Tech scores 1ms been on tlio in-
crcaso the 1931 eleven having
scored three times the total 1020
score already.
Mr. Cawthon's Crimson will
show the Turkey Day customers
here a fair sort of line and a
rather polished backfield. If the
records of the season mean any-
thing Cawthon will show them
principally Yancy Price on end
who docs everything a man at
that position should do and han-
dles a backfield job to boot. The
chances are that the Cranfillmcn
will have the ball game sacked
if they keep Price under cover.
