LIBRARY CORNER
Noel Bailey gave a copy of “Hop-
kins County Cemeteries”. This
large, beautifully bound, completely
indexed book has detailed maps. It
was put together by mother/daugh-
ter team June England Tuck and
Deborah Tuck Young of Sulphur
Springs.
The latest improvement at the
library is the graveled parking lot in
back, with drive-through. We don’t
have to block each other or park in
the street. You go through the drive
to the back and leave by that one way
street on the north.
Elliott Roosevelt wrote, and E. P.
Dutton published “Eleanor Roose-
velt with Love.” This is a nice book
about Mrs. Roosevelt, a telling of her
world-wide activities and influence —
not a gruesome going-over of the
Roosevelt marital problems.
Calling all teens: “M. V. Sexton
Speaking” by Suzanne Newton is a
Junior Literary Guild selection. Mrs.
Newton, four times winner of North
Carolina’s highest award for fiction
for the young, tells of sixteen year
old orphaned Martha Venable Sex-
ton (M.V. for short) and her adven-
tures when she gets a job in a bakery
and starts excitement. M. V. has an
excess of brains. Terrific reading.
“The Simple Art of Perfect Bak-
ing" by Flo Braker. If you can read,
this lady can teach you how to bake
anything. She tells it all -- utensils,
ingredients, methods, details you
would not believe, recipes and step-
by-step instructions.
Reminder: the can cage awaits at
the Review office. If you have sacks
of the things, take them inside.
Someone will tote them to Commerce
to swap for cash. A library can
always use cash.
The Story Hour is going well. The
summer reading program is in the
planning stage
Jim and Chrystellc Ray gave a
memorial for Mrs. Lorna Poe.
Martha Jones, Delta County Trea-
surer, and Anna Preas, secretary to
the Commissioners Court, spent
three days last week at College
Station attending the 13th Annual
County Treasurers’ Seminar.

The citizens of a free society know that the laws
they must live by are the very guardians of their
freedom and the safeguards of their lives and
property. These laws are kept to the irreducible
minimum required to protect us from each other
and from the conceivable abuses of government,
while at the same time allowing us the widest
possible margin of personal liberty. God's laws
were set forth throughout the Bible for these very
reasons, along with many admonitions to obey the
laws of the land as well. It will be to your
advantage to learn all about this, by your regular
attendance at the Church of your choice.
