Homemakers ot America Chap-
ter will be attending the 1977
state meeting of the Texas
Association of FHA. along with
over 6.000 members and
advisors from across the state.
The theme of the 1977
meeting is “Shaping an Un-
finished World", which will be
held in the Astroarena, Hous
ton.' April 21-22.
Attending from Cooper will
be Area VI officers; Pam
Waters, Beverly Stegall, and
Nancy Waters. Encounter Le-
vel; Michelle Alley and Beverly
Beierle. Local Officer; Lynda
Choate. Delegates; Janet Wig-
ley, Amy Echols, Cheryl
Stegall and Gloria Williams.
Advisors; Linda Heizer, Betsy
Watts, student teacher, and
Paulita Williams.
Workshops on topics of
concern to young people such
as child abuse, family, and
values will highlight the meet-
ing.
The business of the Texas
Association will be conducted
at the House of Delegates
session Thursday evening, fol-
lowed by a talent show
featuring representatives from
Areas Vl-X. The theme of the
show is “People are Shining
Stars.”
Future Homemakers who
have achieved unusual accom-
plishments by completing all
levels of Encounter, a special
growth and development pro-
gram, will be honored at
breakfast Friday morning.
Installation of the 1977-78
state officers will climax the
Friday evening session. At
this time, eleven officers
elected through chapter parti-
cipation throughout the state
will be placed in office.

Mrs. J. D. Miller has return-
ed to her home in Cooper after
visiting several days in Dallas
with her daughter-in-law, Mrs.
E. G. Pharr, and other relatives.
Mrs. W.E. Chancellor has
been visiting in Austin with her
grandson. Dr. and Mrs. George
Lowe. She also visited her
daughter, Mrs. Ray Lowe in
Athens.

present her students in a piano
recital Sunday, April 17, at 2:JO
p.m. in the auditorium of the
United Methodist Church of
Pecan Gap. Everyone is cordial-
ly invited.
The Friendship Class met
Tuesday afternoon. April 5, in
fellowship hall of the Baptist
Church for their montlv class
party. Mrs. Ruby Murphey,
class president, furnished Eas-
ter decorations. The meeting
opened with a song, “Blessed
Redeemer" by Mrs. Exel
Humphreys and Mrs. Mavis
Singleton, accompanied at the
piano by Mrs. Ruby Murphey,
followed with prayer by Mrs.
Faye Jones. Mrs. Jewel Cum-
mings gave the devotional.
Seventeen class members were
present, bringing pictures of
their mothers as young adults,
for others to try and match
mother and daughter. Refresh-
ments of cookies and frosted
punch were served.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Lee Richard-
son. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Richardson spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Glen
Stephens and daughters, Ste-
phanie and Lenai of Tom, Okla.
They enjoyed an Easter Sunrise
Service followed by breakfast
and an Easter egg hunt for the
young people of the First
Baptist Church of Tom, Okla. at
a private lake. Afterwards they
attended morning services at
the church where the Richard
son brothers and Miss Rita
Jordan of Arlington presented
a 30 minute program of songs
and music at the special
invitation from the church.
Odell Fowler is a patient in
Sherman Community Hospital,
having been admitted Wednes-
day, April 6.
