with their mother, Mrs. Lilia
Wood, who is ill. Mrs. Wood is
very slowly improving.
Mrs. Elmer McCombs and Mrs.
Ada Nelson and Mr. and Mrs.
Otis Jackson of Commerce visit-
ed in Grand Saline Sunday af-
ternoon with their son and broth-
er, Evans Weaver, who is in a
very serious condition.
Billy Phillips made a business
trip to Paris Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dock Hunt re-
ceived a message from their son,
T/Sgt. David Hunt and family,
who are stationed in Liverpool,
England, saying they were leav-
ing by plane for the states and
would be here aorund the 25th
of July and would be stationed
at Shephard AFB, Wichita Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins of Dal-
las have purchased the Perry
Martain place in Klondike and
Pvt. Miller Finishes

Army Pvt. Paul D. Miller, 23,
whose wife, Martha, lives at
1500 Barbara St., Tyler, com-
pleted the eight-week finance
procedures course June 30 at

min Harrison, Ind.
He was trained in matters re-
lating to the acquiring, disburs-
ing and accounting of funds.
Miller entered the Army last
February and completed basic
training at Fort Riley, Kan,
He is a 1954 graduate of Coop-
er High School, a 1958 graduate
Mrs. Sam Bartley and daugh-
ters visited in Cooper last week
with Mr .and Mrs. Ed F. Smith
and Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Bartley.

sity and is a member of Alpha
Tau Omega fraternity. His par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Mil-
ler, live at 850 E. McKinney,
Cooper. He was a teacher in
Sunset High School, Dallas, be-
fore entering the Army.
