residents who gathered at City
Hall on Thursday, Oct 20, to be-
gin the process of developing a
comprehensive plan for the city.
‘This is the most important
project we have undertaken over
the last two years.” said Mayor
Alfredo E Cardenas. “It will pro-
vide us the road map for our
future as a community.”
The City of San Diego re-
ceived a $40,000 grant from the
state last year to develop compre-
hensive plans for the city. San
Diego will contribute another
$7,500 for the study which is be-
ing conducted by Community De-
velopment Consultants of Aus-
tin.
The Thursday meeting was
in the form of a public hearing
designed toelicit the community’s
input for the plan. Rudy Ruiz,
who heads the consultant team.
