on sale a few days before the Chris-
mas holidays. The art club is to be

Two Students Two Faculty
Members Give Papers At
Science Convention
Headed by Dr Paul C. Witt head
of the Department of Natural
Science and James K. Sikes presi-
dent of the Science club five mem-
bers of the faculty and fourteen stu-
dents will represent Abilene Chris-
tian college at the convention of the
Texas Academv of Science to be
held in Dallas on December 12 13
and 14. The Texas Academy meet-
ing is being held in conjunction with
the annual meeting of the American
Chemical Society
Two members of the Abilene
Christian college faculty R. T. Clark
and Floyd Dunn will give papers be-
foie the Academy. Clark's paper is
on research done while serving as a
lieutenant in the US navy at the US
Naval Air Research Laboratory in
Pensacola Fla. It is entitled "Blood
Oxygen Saturation and Duration
of Conciousness at Similated Alti-
tudes of 28000 to 30000 feet." Dr.
Carl Hoffman of the University of
Arkansas and Dr. E. B. Brown of
the University of Minnesota also
participated in these texts
Dunn's paper "A Microbiological
Synthesis of Thiophcnecarbinal" was
the thesis for his Master's degree
which was received June 1 1040 at
the University of Colorado at Bould-
er James K. Sikes will report before
the Collegiate branch of the Acad-
emy on "A New Method for Determ-
ining Penicillin-Resistant Strains in
Bacteria." The work was done in the
U. S. Naval Hospital Oceanside Cal-
ifornia. Others collaborating were

about come to an end. Many fine
things have happened this year
things which everyone wants to have
preserved. Everyone is getting his
annual signed. But lo who is that
over by the library? He looks so
sad and dejected. He looks as if he
has lost his br-st friend. From tho ex-
pression on his face he seems lost

Coleman will go to Dallas Friday
and Saturday to represent the
school at the annual meeting of the
member schools of the Texas Con-
ference Pit-siding will be Conference Pres-
ident Landeu of Austin College and
Secietary McDaniel of McMurry
New rules and i emulations for the
conference will be discussed in ad-
dition to the drawing up of the
schedule for the coming year.
According to authoritative sources
the TC is to be expanded to include
Hardin College of Wichita Falls and
possibly Sul Ross State Teachers
College of Alpine
The school from Wichita Falls has

effects in addition to extensive
practice all will have a part in
making the Melpomenan pro-
duction of Dickens' Christmas
Carol tonight in Sewell Audito-
rium what Mrs. Kykor director
states will be one of the best
play ptoductions of the year.
The play will run approximately
one houi and 20 minutes. Tickets
are on sale at 25 cents per person ot
$1.00 pei family of four or more.
Tickets may be purchased from Mel-
pom members or at the door.

' Initiated
Six of the scullions of the Campus
Service organization were initiated
as full-flcdgefl members Tuesday af-
ternoon the remaining seven to be
initiated Monday afternoon. The
girls wear the blue and white CSO
jacket foi a week after their initia-
tion. Due to a shortage of jackets
the initiation is taking place in two
gioups.
The pioject of the scullions during
then six weeks period was painting
and furnishing the students' and
teachers' lounges in the administra-
tion building.
