Albert Jackson "Abb" Moore: Albert Jackson Moore, 70, retired Weston, Texas farmer died
Wednesday, July 29, 1953 at City County Hospital in McKinney, Texas following an illness of six
months duration. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church of Weston, Texas
with the Rev. J. T. Seagraves, pastor, conducting. Burial was in Celina Cemetery directed by Helms
Funeral Home of Celina, Texas. Mr. Moore was born May 28, 1883 in Chesterfield, South Carolina, a
son of the late P. A. (Pete) and Rebecca Moore. He came to Texas in 1900 and had been a farmer most
of his life. He is survived by three brothers, Doc Moore and Claude Moore both of Celina, Texas and
Dud Moore of Gunter, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Watson of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Georgia Webb

Jesse W. Moreland: Jesse W. Moreland, 65, a former resident of Celina, Texas died in a
Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital February 16, 1956. Mr. Moreland was born July 24, 1890, in LaFayette,
Georgia, a son of the late J. H. and Martha Wheeler Moreland. His residence in Celina, Texas was more
than 25 years ago. He later lived in Dallas, Texas and moved to Chattanooga a number of years ago.
The funeral was conducted last Saturday in Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Chattanooga with the Rev. L.
B. Cranford and Dr. John Huff officiating. Burial was in a cemetery at Center Point, Georgia, where his
parents are buried. Surviving are four children, Joe Moreland of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sam Moreland
of the U. S. Army in Fort Knox, Kentucky, Miss Lois G. Moreland of Celina, Texas and Mrs. Frances
Potts of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Fred Moreland of Rossville, Georgia; four sisters, Mrs. Isabell Ezell
and Mrs. S. C. Estes of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mrs. C. B. Lloyd of Rossville, Georgia and Mrs. R. G.

Elmer Clay Morgan: Funeral for Elmer Clay Morgan who died Sunday, February 15, 1953 was
held Tuesday. Rev. R. L. Stanley conducted the service. Burial was in Cottage Hill Cemetery directed
by Helms Funeral Home. Mr. Morgan was born August 15, 1922, a son of Will Alexander Morgan. His
mother was drowned in an Oklahoma City flood in June of 1932. He was the husband of Mrs. Verna
Mae Boggs Morgan. After the death of his mother, he came to the home of an uncle and aunt, Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Shelton of Celina, Texas and was reared by them. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mrs.
Robbie Dotson of Hollister, California; a brother, William L. Morgan of Oxnard, California; three sons
and one daughter. (The Celina Record, Celina, Texas, February 19, 1953)
Mary Jesse (Parker) Morgan: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jesse Morgan, 80, were held
April 16th 2:30 p.m. in the Weston Methodist Church which she had been a member for forty one years.
Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Bob Langley and Rev. Ross Bourland, pastor of the Baptist
Church and Rev. T. I. Sandlin former pastor. Interment was in Cottage Hill Cemetery directed by Helms
Funeral Home of Celina, Texas. Pallbearers were Lonzo Grigg, Dudley Burkett, Gerald Stiles, Charlie
Estep, Floyd Walden and Lawrence Billings. Mrs. Morgan, a longtime resident of Collin County died
April 15, 1959 at 10:15 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Troy Cowan. She had been in failing health
for several years. She was a native of Louisiana where she was born September 13, 1878, a daughter of
C. A and Mary Alice Baucum Parker. She had lived in Texas 77 years and was married to the late GeorgePAGE 24
