Student Life Group Plans

The approval of three Students'
Association entertainment pro-
jects and the submitting of 32
nominations for Who's Who are
recent examples of the work of
ACC's Student Life Committee. '
The committee whose func-
tions are relatively unknown on
campus meets at least once a
month to co-ordinate all parts of
college life not pertaining uto the
academic area.
"We are here" states Dean
Bcauchamp committee chair-
man" not to curtail students' ac-
tivities but to sit down and work
out the best program for ACC.
If students have suggestions for
improvement of our programs
they should submit them to their
student body leaders who will in
turn present them to the Student
Life Committee."
The committee is composed of
five standing members the Dean
of Students Garvin Bcauchamp'
the Dean of Men Paul Faulkner;
the Dean of Women Mrs. Harold
Wilkinson; the Director of Coun-
seling Bill Fryer; and P. E. De-
partment representative Mrs.
Dee Nutt The Faculty Senate
appoints two members for two-
year terms; they are Dr. Henry
Speck and Clyde Austin. The
Students' Association officers
Gary McCaleb Royce Money
Suzanne Davis and Don Crisp
are also members.
"The Student Life Committee"
states Ihe faculty handbook "(1)
serves as an advisory council to
the Dean of Students on all mat-
ters pertaining to student life on
the campus (2) considers any
matter referred to it by the Dean
of Students (3) recommends to
the Advisory Council any changes
in rules and regulations govern-
ing student life including setting
requirements for parties In col-
lege clubs and organizations (4)
passes upon petitions for the or-
ganization of new clubs including
requirements for membership (5)
has the oversight of all student
publications and student programs."
ACC Alumni
Aid CLASP
Ninety-six per cent of former
ACC students participated in
alumni giving for the Wichita
Falls CLASP Drive of 1963. Har-din-Simmons
University followed
with 54 per cent
CLASP (College Loyalty A-
lumnl Support Program) is in its
third year and is spreading rap-
idly. Under CLASP each college
receives gifts only for its own
purposes and through its own
alumni.
Director Fulks
Of HC Musical
Is Experienced
Lewis Fulks .director of 'The
Music Man" has been at ACC
since 1044 except for two periods
of graduate study at the Univer-
sity of 'Southern California.
He was born in Burkburnett
Feb. 11 1026 and graduated from
Burkburnett High School in 1044.
While a student at ACC he re-
ceived the Women's Club Award
as the outstanding student in the
speech department He was nam-
ed Best Actor in 1048 was presi-
dent of both the Melpomenean
Players and Alpha Psi Omega
honorary dramatic fraternity and
designed 34 sets for 21 shows.
He received his BA from ACC
in 1048 and the M.A. from USC
in 1950. He then joined the staff
of ACC as an instructor in speech.
From 1058 to 1961 he was on
leave of absence for doctoral
study at USC. While in Los An-
geles he directed the theater of
Peppcrdine College. He has been
back on the ACC staff since fall
of 1061 directing all major pro-
ductions. He married Jcrelene Warren
Dec. 15 1049.
