In Rayburn Home
A special meeting of the
United Methodist Women of
Ingleside United Methodist
Church will be held Sunday
evening at 7:30 o'clock in the
home of Mrs. Sam Rayburn,
Ingleside On The Bay.
The program on “Week of
Prayer and Self Denial” will be
presented b/ Mrs. Rayburn.
All women of the church are
invited to attend

Gamma Psi Chapter of Delta
Kappa Gamma Society met at
the Mission Inn in Refugio
Saturday morning, January 12.
Following a program pre-
sented by Mrs. Nadene Barber
of Refugio, a business meeting
was held.
Ingleside members attending
were Virginia Matzinger, Wan-
da Smith, Fredia Woodard and
Elizabeth Slayton.

served.

JUNE WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McCauley of
Ingleside announce the engagement and approaching
marriage of their ward, Deborah Sue Lambert, to Cyril
Eugene Piazza, II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Eugene
Piazza, Sr., also of Ingleside. The couple plan a June
3rd wedding at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic
Church in Ingleside.
It was reported that Ingleside
4 Hers will have a rabbit show
this year and meetings have

Mrs. Buckingham
Is Hostess
To Garden Club
A regular meeting of Ingle-
side Garden Club was held last
Thursday in the home of Mrs
Mary K. Buckingham, 220
Sunset
During the business session
presided over by Mrs. V. R.
Crofford, president, plans were
discussed for assisting Junior
Garden Club. Funds were
donated for plants.
Mrs. J. H. Northam, Mrs.
John Meents and Mrs. Merrill
Manship were appointed to plan
Arbor Day planting ceremonies
to be held Jan 18 at the Junior
High School on Avenue B,
Mrs. D.L W. Charter, Direc-
tor, of District VII, was present
and answered questions con-
cerning the district meeting to
be held Feb. 27 and 28. Various
committee reports were giv en.
Mrs W G Schmidt reported
that palms recently placed near
the railroad downtown had been
watered regularly.
Mrs. Manship presented a
brief program on “Instant
Beauty with Annuals" and
distributed detailed leaflets on
their care.
Tom Nickols, president of the
park board, spoke to the group
on progress made by various
organizations toward plans for
the proposed Live Oak Park
At the close of the meeting a
delicious luncheon was served
by Mrs. Buckingham and Mrs.
Crofford to twelve members,
Mrs. Carter, Mr. Nickols, and
additional guests, Mrs J S.
Edwards, Mrs R M Kemp and
Mrs. E. F. Menville.
The next regular meeting will
be held Feb. 14 in the home of
Mrs. L. T. Wyninger, 1017 Ave.
B. Mrs. Wyninger will be in
charge of a program on
“Hanging Containers."
Programs Planned
By UMW Units
The program connittee of the
United Methodist Women met
Monday morning in the home of
Mrs. Burl Bowden.
Mrs. Curtis Barber, vice
president and program chair-
man, was in charge of the
meeting which was opened with
a prayer The programs for the
general meeting were set and
leaders and hostesses were
named.
A salad luncheon was served
to seven members.

Convention Plans
Mrs. J.M. Attaway, Conven-
tion Chairman for the District
VII Meeting which will be held
in Aransas Pass on February 27
and 28 appointed various
Committees in preparation for
the coming event at a recent
meeting in her home in Aransas
Pass.
The Spring Convention of all
the Garden Clubs in District VII
will be held in Aransas Pass
with the two clubs acting as
hosts, namely Ingleside Garden
Club and Aransas Pass Hibiscus
Club
The Finance Committee of
this Convention Board was
called together by the Chair-
man, Mrs W.H. Barr from
Aransas Pass at the home of
Mrs J. H Northam, 515 Ave D,
Ingleside with Mrs. V.R
Crofford, Ingleside Club presi-
dent, Mrs. L.T. Wyninger, and
Mrs Harry Ayres attending
Many ideas for favors and
items to exhibit for sale to help
defray expenses of the Conven-
tion itself were discussed. Some
of the projects and arrange-
ment planned are potted plants,
unusual shells, and ceramic tile
painted bottles.

New Officers YHT To Aid
Installed By Girls With
Truth Rebekahs Fair Exhibits
New officers of Truth Rebe-
kah Lodge No. 143 were
installed January 3 at the
I.O.O.F. Center.
Mrs. Harriet King of Ingle-
side, District Deputy President,
was installing officer. She was
assisted by Evelyn Gideon,
Ethel Stephens, Marion Tate,
Janet Blasingame, Sarah Heth-
cock, Alice Billman and Annie
Commander.
New officers are Ada Owens,
noble grand; Pearl Trimyer,
vice grand; Marilyn McCarley,
chaplain; Katherine Ercan-
brack, warden, Mary Frando-
lig, conductor; Bumis Mitchell,
R.S.N.G.; Edna Mowles, L.S.N.
G.; Margaret Goodson, inside
guardian; Cora Goodyear,
outside guardian; Mildred
Fender, R.S.V.G., and La Verne
Griffin, L.S.V.G.
Red roses and white satin
decorated the center for the
occasion. Following the instal-
lation refreshments were
served to members and visitors
from Ingleside Rebekah Lodge
and Aransas Pass No. 307.
The Young Homemakers of
Texas in Ingleside had tHSir
opening ceremony by Jerry Lou
Nix and members of the
Chapter when they met for their
regular meeting
This month, crocheting gran-
ny squares for an afghan will be
the project for a fund raising
program Each member will
crochet ten squares by the Feb
11 meeting.
The Sinton FHA County Fair
Exhibit will begin Jan. 23
through the 26th with YHT
members taking part to help the
girls and teachers exhibit their
projects Barbara Thompson,
Janie Brewster, homemaking
teacher, Jan Kuykendall, Ruth
O’Neill, Jerry Lou Nix, and
Janice Mooch, Elizabeth An-
drews and Linda Belcher will
assist the girls
IN HOSPITAL
Mrs. S.L. Huddleston is in
Doctor’s and Physician's Hos-
pital where she is recovering
from foot surgery
